I was fortunate enough to stay here from April 21th until May 5th and all I can say is that this place is FIVE STARS all the way. I will explain my post title below, but when you are in a backup spot that is so close to the sand and beach it takes less than 3 steps, well, that is five stars all the way! Okay, here is the Cliff Notes version of my 14 days here:
The title of my post: Let's just say that everything was rolling along smoothly until live-fire exercises started across the 75 highway on a Thursday afternoon and ran until about 10PM and it was insane. Osprey aircraft, other helicopters, live-fire rounds going off...I was half expecting to see Lieutenant Colonel William "Bill" Kilgore, commander of 1st Squadron, 9th Cavalry Regiment and surfing fanatic, come rolling up on the shores! LOL! This is no joke, you could actually smell the residue from the spent munitions from across 75 where all this was going on. All I can say is that this made my stay even more awesome! I mean, where else are you so close that you can smell the napalm in the evening!?!? ;-) There were Osprey aircraft that would fly by throughout the day, but nothing terrible in terms of noise. It was no where near as crazy as the Whidbey Island F-whatevers flying over so low that your rig was shaking and you couldn't even hear yourself think.
1. There is only one (1) entrance to the park and boy is this place secure. You can't even get in the gate without one of the key cards that they will give you when you check in. Be prepared to call the number on the gate to let them know you are there and to get the gate open. Also, it is really tight going through the gate so pay close attention if someone is trying to go through at the same time you are. Check-in was awesome and the women at the front desk were all super nice. Took about 5 minutes. Also, don't lose your key cards as they are $75 a pop if you do.
2. There are a ton of sites and all of them are back-in unless you get the middle row which is all pull-through. The power pedestals and water hookups were just awesome and some of the best I have ever seen/used.
3. Starlink was off-the-charts awesome. I was averaging 200Mbps down/15 Mbps up for all 14 days. My AT&T hotspot had max bars of 5G Ultra Wide Band and my T-Mobile hotspot had max bars of 5G the entire time. Even my phone, which is Verizon, had 3-4 bars of 5G...and Verizon is usually terrible on the west coast.
4. Checking in: As soon as you come in through the gate they have a spot for you to park at in front of the office. Again, check-in was super-simple.
5. Other Military Bases: Having stayed at Widbey Island and experienced what was insane flyover noise, this was a walk in the park. After 10PM it was really quiet and not much noise from the road for sure.
6: Showers/Bathrooms: I didn't use the showers, but did peek in there and just like the bathrooms they were incredibly clean every morning. There was a crew (like almost all of the military bases I have stayed at) that was cleaning literally every day. Really nice and you need to have your keycard with you to get in.
7. Space #37: Great spot backed up right on the water and super clean. It wasn't one of the fire pit sites, but it was great.
8. Gas Prices: I included the photos I took of the station on Orange Avenue compared to the base prices...not much better (considering I am only paying $3.50 a gallon here in Prescott, AZ for the next two weeks)...it is just expensive.
There is also a beautiful paved trail right out in front of the Marina that runs all the way to the Coronado Yacht Club and 10th Avenue. Great for riding bikes, walking, running, etc. Again, this place is 5 stars all the way. I also attached some photos and the views of the Coronado bridge were 2nd to none.

This was our second time visiting this campground. It is only open to Military active duty, Retirees and DOD. Last time we had a waterfront site but enjoyed our back row back in site immensly with our Class A Motorhome. Great views of San Diego and the Navy shipyard. We loved walking our dog in the morning on the trail adjacent to the park which goes all the way out to the silver strand beach and an exersize loop that weaves in and out of small shubbary near the beach.
I agree there was some noise with the review above but this only happened 3 out of our 10 nights there. This campground is very close to where the Navy Seals have training so it's to be expected. Grateful to be able to access to this campground.

A little spendy by MWR standards but a very nice RV park on San Diego Bay. Clean and paved roads and all sites are newer concreate pads with 50/30, water and sewer. Fair amount of Military base activities which seem to end around 9pm while we were there. This includes heavy machine gun fire sounds from the BUDS/Seal training area across the street, helos, and ship horns.
Also averaged about 200Mbps down and 63 Mbps down with T-Mobile 5G Ultra Capacity on a Samsung S22 Ultra.
To get here again, I would approach from the south instead of the north, traffic was pretty busy pulling a 30' trailer.
