The campsites aren't the best. Lots of gravel, but you're able to be right by the water. We saw a lot of sea lions and there were never too many people when we were there (around 4/16). The campsites aren't the best. Lots of gravel, but you're able to be right by the water. We saw a lot of sea lions and there were never too many people when we were there (around 4/16). This park is an easy drive to the ferry as well for quick access to Seattle. However, you've got everything you need in Bainbridge and/or Poulsbo. Lots of great outdoor walking areas as well!

First trip out in my 2023 Class B. Convenient location for shakedown trip. This is a beautiful area, right on the water. Busy park during the day, and then super quiet at night. First trip out in my 2023 Class B. Convenient location for shakedown trip. This is a beautiful area, right on the water. Busy park during the day, and then super quiet at night. Neighbors were close, but helpful and friendly. I felt very safe.
The water connection was on one side and electric on the other. No biggy since my connections are in the back of my rig, but I can see that being a challenge for a bigger RV. No dump station. Bathrooms are older, but were clean. Shower wasn't working.
If you have a big rig, do NOT follow GPS directions via Hidden Cove Road. That way is windy and difficult to maneuver. Try Day Rd & Sunset Drive instead.

We stayed here on the eve of the 2020 election in order to give ourselves an opportunity to clear our heads before what was sure to be an interesting day (week?) to follow. We stayed here on the eve of the 2020 election in order to give ourselves an opportunity to clear our heads before what was sure to be an interesting day (week?) to follow. No reservation required and there were only about 4 other people camping here. Pulled in around 7:00pm and it was pretty dark, but we drove around for a bit and found a decent space in site number 6. One thing to note - it looks like the power hookups are spaced in such a way that even number sites you are close to hookup on driver side as you back in, but in odd number sites, you'd have to run power across the whole campsite. Because of this, site 6 was best option without being side-by-side with a neighbor, but that site does back up to a residence that is just outside the park on the other side of the fence. If you are looking for a reservation ahead of time, site 1-4 would be really nice and close to the beach.
We were really hoping to have a fire and the website said there would be a host and firewood available. Unfortunately, when we arrived, neither were present or available. I suppose I could have gathered some driftwood, but it was pretty damp, so we bagged the fire and played games inside.
Overall, its an ok spot for being relatively close to the city (35 min ferry ride from Seattle) and the beach is really pretty, but it's a city park and probably more designed for day use. It served it's purpose to escape civilization for 24 hours as we got ourselves ready for election results.

This place looked beautiful, overlooking the Salish Sea, but I stayed for literally 20 minutes and had to bail because there was so much noise: kids yelling. I feel like such a fun killer but honestly it was too much for me. I read the other reviews thinking I could handle it but ... nope!

This is a beautiful park right on the water across the sound from Seattle. We kayaked from the beach just a short walk from our campsite. When the tide came in at night we could here the waves coming ashore from inside our camper.
The park is reasonably well maintained. The bathroom facilities are dated but functional. When we were there the showers were closed due to COVID. The sites are easily accessible and level, although the park entry drive may be challenging for larger RVs because the road is tight and narrow.
Unfortunately like any city park the crowds are abundant. Camp sites are close together with virtually no privacy. Also the campground shares the parking lot with the day-use area. If you're looking for a place to settle down for a quiet weekend this isn't it. If you're looking for a campground with water access this may work for you.

We arrived on a Tues. evening in late July w/ no reservations hoping to find a site w/ power for a couple nights. Hooray! There were several sites available with or without power. Sites w/o power are $30/night. Some reviewers caution big rigs getting in ‘n out of here. I agree... use caution if you’re in anything close to a Class A or Super C.
That said: there is a large 37’ Jayco Seneca Super C parked down just on the other side of the campground from us (I think those are just over 8’ wide and 13’ tall).
Site #8 is level and just deep enough for our 24’ Sprinter van. Great views of the field and parking lot w/ Puget Sound in the background. The beach is moderately sloped, rocky, and walkable. I noticed a couple pairs of Adirondack style chairs for public use! Very nice feature. Shower is decent, coin op gets you 90 seconds of hot water for 25 cents. Flush toilets and urinals are fine. There’s a dish washing pit w/ gray water bucket dump ... but NO tank dumping at this location. Note: There are NO dump stations anywhere on Bainbridge Island.
Because this is a public access State Park: there was a decent amount of drive-by automobile traffic through the campsites area during the day. A loud daycare showed up to play volleyball with 2 dozen screaming little kids. There’s also a great play area structure and group picnic shelter for rent.
We will definitely return to Fay Bainbridge campground. It’s gorgeous. Great location to the city. And mostly quiet at night.

$40 a night electric and water on Puget Sound, BEWARE the is no place to dump your tanks anywhere close. Showers are pay for, .25 for 90 sec. Showers are so so. Winding roads getting here big rigs might have a problem. 40 air tv channels. I have straight talk cell worked fine.

Bathrooms are a little buggy but stocked and clean with one shower. Beautiful views of Seattle lighting the sky across the Sound.
I came end of October and had no issue getting a spot. I can see this getting busy in summer.

Taller rigs should beware of Bainbridge Island in general: the only bridge onto the island is limited to 14'8" clearance, but many of the roads have overhanging trees. Inside Fay Bainbridge Park, several small limbs made contact with our roof and we are 12' tall. Also, the road is narrow and twisty - I would advise you to walk or drive... more

Inside Fay Bainbridge Park, several small limbs made contact with our roof and we are 12' tall. Also, the road is narrow and twisty - I would advise you to walk or drive the entrance & exit roads in your tow vehicle if have a larger motorhome or trailer.
That being said, the campground is in a beautiful location. All sites have a view of the Sound and are only a few hundred feet from the beach, and the lights of Seattle are nice in the evenings. Pads are gravel and sites are grassy and relatively narrow. Most are shaded and if you depend on solar this will be a challenging park for you. Only 3 or 4 sites will receive direct sun during the day, and for limited duration.
Potable water at each site, no sites with power. Firepits, picnic tables, bath house, small playground, trash and recycling. The dump station was closed at the time of our visit (October 2015).
