“Nice Location for Fly Fishing”

Esofea-Rentz Park is a county run park in the heart of the driftles region of Wisconsin surrounded by a multitude of fly-fishing streams. We camped there with our son and two grandchildren. Other than a very loud group of guys just up the hill from us that seemed to need to yell some kind of war cry and blast music, the park was very quiet and far away from any road noise. The noisy group did quiet down about 9:30, though, and the rest of the night was very peaceful. Our sight was directly across from a small trout pool that was heavily fished, but people were catching trout! It was the perfect place for our 9-yr old granddaughter to learn to fly fish. There is a small playground that needed some upkeep as it was leaning over quite a bit. Our sight was gravel and a little difficult to level. The rear end of the parking area was pretty soft. We had full hookups, and there are quite a few FHU sights and most are fairly spacious, but no privacy. We did not use the bathrooms. There is a firewood shed where you self pay and get a wheel barrel full of good firewood for $10.00. The North Fork of the Bad Axe River flows through one end of the park where there are some nice tent sights. We hiked one of the trails, and the spring wild flowers were beautiful. There are hills covered with ramps that quite a few people were harvesting. Cell service (Verizon) was 1 bar and 1x - 3G. We thought the price was a little high considering the amenities, no host, and the quality of the sight, but we will go back.

Very cute little county park.
Sites 1-4 FHU
5-13 electric
14-27 primitive but accessible by vehicle.

Had a flush toilet, no sinks or showers. Some of the picnic tables needed repairs. Trout stream is adjacent to the park. We'll be back!
