Overall Rating

Very small campground, only 20 serviced sites with electricity and water (wich you have to boil). Not knowing the exact problem with the water, I preferred not to use it for I did not want to contaminate my tanks. That being said, I personally consider that 35$ is too expensive for just one service. Especially since there is no dumping station on site and, for those who are tenting, be advised that there is no washrooms and showers.
As for the campground itself, the sites are very close from one another. Fortunately, it was not full as we arrived, so backing up my 25 ft travel trailer was fairly easy because of that and the rv parking space was pretty leveled. Not so leveled was the rest of the lot though, because the campground itself is on the side of a small cliff. Actually, this is why I gave it 2 stars, because we had a nice view from our site, overlooking the bay.
We had no cell coverage with Bell nor with Vidéotron and there is no Wifi available.
Another thing, we went to Elliston especially because we wanted to see the puffins. Well, it is definitely too late in mid-August to do so, even though we saw maybe 10 of them on the bird island. The trail going there is rather easy and well worth it though. The view is spectacular.
All in all, we will not return there because we have seen many more other spectacular places and I suppose you can also see puffins elsewhere in Newfoundland.
