You use Gate 2 to get to the registration office. Check-in was quick and we proceeded to back-in site 444 with FHUs. Our back-in should have been smooth but we were out of practice. The utilities are at the far end of the sites. In most areas, the sites back up to each other and share a utility post (separate outlets for each site) and share the water spigot. As we had come out of the Brinkley Service Center, we did not need to dump. If we had hooked up sewer, we would have needed about 25’ of hose to reach a hole in the ground (no screw in adapter). Water pressure was okay depending on if both rigs are pulling water. They have wifi (4H Public) that was pretty good but there were not many rigs in the fairgrounds. We have 4 bars on Verizon. If you are allergic to train noise, this is not your place as trains run all day, all night, at regular intervals, and the tracks are adjacent to the FHU campground (CG) areas. Sites are quite close together but far enough that you can get your awnings out. As this CG was near the Brinkley Service Center and they had to come back out to us to finish repairs, this place worked for us. We would stay here again if we come back for service center work. They are very flexible with cancellations/reservation changes as they realize the majority of people are here for RV service.

Everything was clean and inviting. It snowed the whole time we were there but we’re able to use water and sewer, unlike other campgrounds in the area.

The trains go all day and all night. Stay away from tracks if you are a light sleeper. Verizon service was ok. No streaming but could do texting and some phone calls.
Bathrooms were plentiful and clean.
Saw a Bald Eagle flying over one day!

If you land in the wrong section, they will definitely be annoying. Otherwise, the campground was fine. It was quite empty when we were there and there were no events, so it was quiet (other than the blaring horns of the trains). It's certainly a convenient spot if your traveling across the country or want to visit Elkhart.

We’re here for the FROG rally so nightly stay is part of the package. We used to live right next to I-95 so the trains going by all day are a nonissue to us. Park is well laid out, a bit close to each other, but everything works and satellite people will love the open skies.
Amazing Verizon reception.

Great place to stay to visit RV Hall of Fame in Elkhart and also convenient for driving the Heritage Trail around the Amish areas. Some train noise but it did not bother us. Maple Indian Restaurant in Goshen was great.

Basic campground with full hook-ups, but nothing else. The fairgrounds are large, but we didn't see a playground or anything for kids other than the fields to run around and play ball in. At dusk, the lightning bugs were stunning, thousands of them all over the fields twinkling like stars. The biggest negative is the train noise. It's so close that you can feel it rumbling the RV. It blows it's horn several times. There's a train every 5-10 minutes around the clock. In 5 years fulltime RVing, we've never seen such busy train traffic. Granted, we chose the only end spot available and it was the site closest to the train tracks, but I don't normally complain about train or traffic noise; however, I feel it has to be mentioned because the other reviews seem to downplay it and it is MAJOR noise. For that reason, we would only camp here again if we were in a pinch (as we were this time due to 4th of July weekend).
Site & Location: The roads in are fine for big rigs, no problems. Enter through the second gate (It looks like the RV park is at Gate 1, but enter at Gate 2 to check-in first). Check-in is in the big brick 4-H building. Sites are small and close. Thank God there was hardly anyone here and they let us pick our site, so we could space out a bit. We had a picnic table. All sites are back in with water located at the back of the site, so take a long hose. Sewer is also located towards the back and may require an extension hose. We had a 50 amp electric, water, and sewer site for $33 a night plus tax, which in my opinion, is way too much for these sites. Antenna TV picked up all network channels plus some.
Service: Both Verizon and AT&T work here, but Verizon works much better. As a fulltime family, we work and school on-the-road, as I know many do, so here are the cell service speed tests I did: AT&T - 8.65 (download), 0.24 (upload); Verizon - 10.9 (download), 5.21 (upload). We could stream/game on both (barely on AT&T); however, I teach online with VIPKID and only Verizon was strong enough for that. Hope that helps.

We were coming into the area for some RV Repairs and chose the fairgrounds due to their great location and also because they just wrote our name down when we called for reservations and asked if we would call if we needed to cancel. How nice is that. This is a large fairground and they have camping areas scattered all around. We chose their 50 amp full hook up area, which happened to be right next to a couple horse corrals. We had live entertainment each day. All the sites are large and easy to back in or pull thru. The staff was friendly and they provided a great packet of information that helped point us to a few fun adventures while we were in the area. $33 for full hookup 50 amp and $25 for 30 amp and water.

The only downside is the noise from the trains, but that is minimum. Inside the RV you don't even notice, but if you're outside visiting you have to wait for the train to go by to continue talking.
The wifi was poor during the rally, but worked well after the park emptied.
