It should not be mentioned casually among friends that the road into this campground involves 11 miles of dirt road, beginning with a very steep, switchback road that, should it rain, might prove tricky without 4 wheel drive.
We did it in our 2 wheel drive van (Ford 3-350) with no problem, and our friends in a different 2 wheel drive van (Promaster with that low clearance axle in the back) did it as well. Plenty of others camping there also apparently had no problem making it down the road. So, it's difficult to get to and big rigs would NOT want to go down here, though small trailers would be fine (rafting guides were seen towing trailers full of rafts down the road.)
Aside from that, this place is like dill on a pickle, absolutely perfect and you'll never be able to call them "gerkins" again.
It's absolutely epic, easily the best campground in Dinosaur and for many miles around, and you really won't find many spots with access so near to a gorgeous horseshoe bend in the Green River!
No cell service. Shaded and full sun spots available, bathrooms were closed in August 2020.
Nathan @ Wand'rly would stay here again
