This is a nice campground to enjoy as a quiet coastal getaway. We were there in early April and the weather was cool - to cold, and windy, but it was also beautiful. Before arriving I was concerned that our campsite had a big tree at the back of it, but it turned out to be a blessing because it allowed great protection from the wind and were one of the few campsites on the Jetty that could sit outside during the heaviest wind. #91 is also right across from the off-leash doggy beach- so the pup was very happy. Nice camp host, nice campers - great beach walking or trail walking - all dog friendly. We just switched our rig from a 24' Class C - to a 32' Toy hauler - and our site was 44' long -perfect. Highly recommend going - we didn't explore too much on bikes due to the wind - but my Husband went into Marin to Mt. Bike ride. There is a $2.00 a day fee for dogs- no utilities, but a dump.

Beautiful area! The beach was so nice and the sunset was lovely. The campground is set up so that most sites have some privacy between them but....the coastguard is in the back end...engines all night. And there's a horn that beeps about every 30 seconds ... Constantly. Earplugs were no help. Sound machines may be better.

Everyone was super friendly, there wasn’t a lot of trash around, the bathrooms were clean and it wasn’t overly loud, considering how full the place was. You can hear a horn off in the distance, as well as seals, but it wasn’t loud or annoying.
My favorite part was that even though camp sites are close to each other, it didn’t feel crowded. And there are two beach areas where dog are allowed off-leash. My pup wasn’t a fan of the ocean, however.

Site 111 was ocean side and required a little more to get level. It seemed like any site was okay at the end of the beach. We heard that the sites on the channel side could get pretty windy at times.
The hosts were super nice!
There are bathrooms and coin showers in the area as well as recycling containers for boxes, bottles and even propane bottles.
Doran Beach is a two mile stretch and at low tide one can see many star fish and other sea creatures at the East end of the beach on the rocks.
Each site has a table and a fire ring.
There is a dump station and also an additionally one time fee of $7.00 for sewage.
There is a fog horn that goes off every nine seconds, but after a while one doesn’t even notice it.
One can hear an occasional seal barking on the rocks offshore.
There are many that come here and fish for fish or fish for crab. Many kayakers, wind surfers and kite fliers.
There are several places to eat seafood nearby.

You can also drive across the harbor and hike the bluffs on the west side. While you are over there, make sure to visit Spud Point Crab Company. The county rangers and staff are great. The facilities are always clean. Bring quarters for the showers. ($2.00 for 5 minutes) All the sites are flat, but some of the asphalt pads are a bit short. There are sites that face the bay or the harbor. Nice fire pits for those chilly nights. The hosts have firewood for sale. ($10 per bundle) Dog friendly too.
Yes there is a fog horn to remind you where you are and the Coast Guard tests their engines every day.

If you’re expecting peace and quiet, this probably isn’t the place for you. That being said, you do get used to it and eventually tune it out.
We stayed at the “Jetty” portion of the campground and it was clearly the best in terms of location, views and proximity to the beach. All the sites were fine, though you’ll probably end up getting your leveling blocks out if you want to be 100% level.
Showers are $2.00 and the facilities were pretty clean.
Go to town to get firewood (gas station, the only one in Bodega Bay) and save yourself $4.00 per bundle conpared to the campground host’s prices.
You’d never no it driving into Bodega Bay (where we had mostly no cell signal at all) but the Verizon and ATT cell service here is THE FASTEST I’ve ever experienced... Verizon was 60 MBPS upload and 140 MBPS download. That’s not a typo... 60/140 up/down. That was unboosted and with an external antenna. I couldn’t believe it; and that was with only 2 bars of service on my iPhone X standing at the sea shore. Incredibly fast; enjoy your multiple 4K Netflix streams :)
The park itself was just ok; no playground for the kids, but there was a nature station near the circle campgrounds. There’s also access to maintained walking and biking trails from the main road.

There are two distinct areas... the Jetty campgrounds, and the Marsh/Harbor side Campgrounds. Each has its own charm... Jetty being closer to actual beach, and the others looking across the harbor - which can reveal seals, birds, and windsurfers depending on tides.
Restrooms are clean and well maintained, with hot showers available.
It is dog friendly, but to clarify another post: Dogs must BE ON LEASH when on the beach. There is a separate Dog Run on the harbor side that is only really usable when the tide is low. It's about a hundred yards long... our small dog LOVES it.
Sonoma parks recently made all of these sites available to book online, but will attempt to accommodate 'walk ins'. Weekends are almost always full up.
