We stayed one night after a visit later in the day to the UC Davis Veterinary Hospital (about 8 miles East). The sites are spotless, there is a huge grassy area where you can walk your dogs/play ball. We were one of four RVs staying the night. Super quiet except for the kids playing in their backyard of the house the spots back up to. We would definitely stay here again if passing through the area. Site are wide and long - we were in a 38’ Motorhome and had plenty of room to detach our TOAD and park it next to our rig.

There are about 15+ sites here at the Dixon Fairgrounds. Nicely spaced, flat, gravel with some fruit trees between and a large grassy area across. Clean and quiet except for nearby soft train sounds. I don’t recall hearing them during the night. Must register before 5p M-F or pay cash only after hours to camp host . FCFS. We had a pleasant stay visiting nearby family. Might want to ask about events. There was a wedding with very loud music until midnight but we didn’t mind much.

Great place to stop and take care of business. Staff is fantastic. If you come in on the weekend bring cash. The host will only accept cash. On the weekdays the office is open and can register you with no problems. It’s a no thrills place but safe and close to town. No reservations needed, first come first serve.

We walked leashed throughout the fairgrounds to go to the bathroom and then finished off with some great ball throwing for them. Groceries and shopping really close. There are a lot of trains, and they seem to peek at about 6:30 in the morning and they’re pretty close. There was a drag race out in the street one night but otherwise it’s a quiet location. For some reason we had to pay in cash, not sure what that was about. There are fruit teas by each site which is nice. No Wi-Fi. Perfect for visiting Davis and Sacramento.

Cannot say enough about the excellent staff at the Dixon May Fair RV Park. The ground are exceptionally clean, the hookups in great condition and the location is great for walking, hitting downtown or seeing the area.

It's much more comfortable than I was expecting, having only driven through Dixon 400 times.
The grounds are really Great for walking dogs.
Friendly camp host and her dog Priscilla.
It was a great stopping point on our way home to Reno from Stanford.
Hookups are good and clean. NO wifi, so no streaming those rodeo movies here.
