Overall Rating

The spot referenced by the other couple was beautiful but the mosquitoes were so rampant I had to flee. Decided to drive up the road and see if anything else would work. Nope accidentally needed up on an ATV road and couldn’t turn around for 13 miles. Luckily I have 4 wheel drive or I would have been stuck with no cell service in what was clearly grizzly country.

“Quiet but close to Grand Teton”

Overall Rating

The road is paved until 1.5 miles to this site, then pretty good gravel road for the next mile, then it gets a little rougher and narrower, but made it no problem. This dispersed camping area is in the Jackson Ranger District of the Bridger-Teton National Forest and when I called them they said it had just opened for the season the day before. It is closed in the winter and the ranger said they had just opened it because it was too muddy from the snow melt. No amenities, pack in pack out, but this spot provides privacy and it's elevated above Ditch Creek so you get the peaceful sounds of the creek in the background. There is a site just before this one that is larger but not level. This site was perfectly level and easy access. No cell signal and it's open, so if you have Starlink you'll get a signal.
