Overall Rating

Pros: awesome level site; right next to scenic area of river; good views; saw/heard bear; free!
Cons: close to road so do hear road traffic (mainly tractor trailers at night cutting thru); not much privacy at site from other campers tho spread out some so no issue

Overall, love this area to camp. Perfect for those like me who enjoy free, level, easy access, clean and the view/ability to sit by the rivers edge make it a great choice. Also good because little over halfway on scenic route it going from Montana into Idaho.

Overall Rating

Easily accessible from scenic Route 12 and more great cutthroat trout fishing on the Lochsa River. Nearby trailheads can keep you busy when not fishing or swimming. A decent size rig can get down the slight downramp to the campsites. Aside from no cell service, this place is perfect, enjoy!
