We stayed in the primitive area. Our truck camper 12’ height) barely fit under the branches, but the campsite was spacious and private. A little bit of trash we needed to pickup but overall an excellent place for a few days. Nice walking trails.

We stayed 2 night in the area and it’s really quiet. Close to all natures but no phone signal, no water. Bring some mosquitoes spray. Nothing much to do except you got a free stay but you need to reserve on line.

There is a nice long stretch of road before primitive and equestrian camping. When you go down the road there is a fork, equestrian to the left primitive to the right. I did primitive camping. So when you make the right at the fork oh, quick turn right at the Port -a-John. That's primitive. The grass needs to be cut. The porta-john was clean and had TP. But I always carry TP with me anyways. There are two nice little Pond to Adventure around. Overall not a bad space. If you ever run out of anything stores are 5 to 6 miles away. Any store you want. Not only Walmart but other stores also. That is kind of a must/plus have for me. I like when stores are close by. But not too close to where you can hear the noise. This spot was perfect.

We absolutely loved our stay here and wish we would have stayed longer. We loved the peace and solitude. It is a convenient location close to town. We loved that it has a locking gate at the front of the campground. To come here you just need to go online and book a free reservation. There are two sides: primitive and equestrian. We stayed at the equestrian side. A few spots would accommodate for a big rig, but there is landscaping you will have to maneuver around. Definitely would come back here. No hook ups, one porta potty, and one picnic table pavilion. Each campsite had a picnic table and a fire pit.

Great free camping spot. We have a 25 ft class C & stayed in the primitive section. Low hanging branches but we did have enough room to maneuver. The primitive area is about 30 yds to the right of the fork. A word of warning! Do not go beyond it! The road is rather narrow, lots of tree branches & it dead-ends at an unopenable gate...Yikes.. Luckily we we able to turn around. We missed the small sign just beyond the entrance to the primitive spots that said "NO MOTORIZED VEHICLES BEYOND THIS POINT"
The equestrian area is much larger & suitable for big rigs. Very nice! We saw only one other camper while we were there. Very peaceful!

We had a great exprience at Cypress Creek. There are two camprounds (Primitive and Equestrian) be sure that you are reserving the one you want to stay in. The Primitive side has 3 sites (no numbered) that will typically get good sun for solar but we would not suggest you stay in that area with a "big rig" there are some clearance issues getting back to that area if you are over about 10ft. The equestrian side is much more big rig friendly but most sights have large trees so solar will be limited.
The gate was locked throughout our stay and was a nice piece of added security. The park gets a fair number of walkers and bikers enjoying the wildlife preserve during the day but everyon is very respectful. We also did a full campground review video on our Youtube Channel and will link it on this page as well.

We enjoyed the quiet beauty all around us. We pulled in and had to clean our site and the one next to us due to previous people leaving trash. Once we had it cleaned it was beautiful again, I hate to clean up after slobs but if we don’t then these free places will soon close. We will definitely return.

“Website only shows day use”
noted 2/7/2022
No reservations available for this location when I checked. The drop down only had "day use" in the options box and when I clicked on that, there was no where to select the date. I've booked several sites through this website, but this one doesn't look like it's available for camping now.
