I just did a one night stopover on my way to Jasper National Park and there’s a lot of space here. You can go straight down to the river or left. I didn’t even need to level the spot I was on. A lot of locals set up here with ATVs.

It was a good, free spot to overnight on our trip from Jasper to Dawson Creek. It's close to the highway, but not directly on it. It was a good, free spot to overnight on our trip from Jasper to Dawson Creek. It's close to the highway, but not directly on it. You definitely still hear the highway noise, but at least you don't see it. The entrance is the same as that for the food truck, Kay's Kitchen, along the highway. The food truck was open pretty late (8 or 9 pm), and they were open in the morning when we left around 9 am. I didn't try any food, but I did grab a coffee on my way out.
It was close enough to Grand Prairie that we picked up a little bit of cell reception. It wasn't enough to work or stream, but enough to check email and social media. Dumpsters and a makeshift recycling bin were available, too.
There appeared to be a bunch of permanent residents living in the area, despite the sign noting a 14 day limit. We also met a few guys that work at the nearby logging camps who stopped there just to hang out and drink. Didn't make me feel great about the area. That said, we didn't have any problems at all for the 1 night we were there, and I'd stay again.
I attached a highlighted satellite image of the area with good and bad areas marked. Below is a description of it.
As you enter the area, you climb a small hill past the food truck and two dumpsters. It was a little rough, but just go slow and it's not a problem. After the little hill, you'll see a site right in front of you (pull-thru), a large camping area to the left (although it appeared that a few full-time residents lived in there), a road going straight, and a road going left. The left hand road was very rough and I don't recommend it unless you scout it and verify before driving. Going straight is safe. After going straight, you'll see a long section of road with about 4 sites along it. It's a bit of a slope, but you could get level. To the left is another large circle with room for at least 5 rigs.
Further down the road got very rough again. I highly recommend walking it before bringing a rig down. There is a big turn around by the river, and you could probably fit 3 or 4 rigs in that area too. The road went further down, and it looked like at least one campsite was down there, but it was a tight road so I didn't bother walking it. To the right and along the river, there was a large mud pool followed by some rough but manageable road. If the mud isn't there, it might be doable. There were 3 sites along the river that I could see. They looked pretty nice if you could manage to get your rig that far in. The road ultimately connects with the rough road at the start, forming a large loop.
