Just here for one night in our 24’ Travel Trailer on a Tuesday. Lots of open spot. We didn’t have a reservation. Most spots are grass under big trees that provide a lot of dappled shade. Only a few gravel spots for our RV. No views of the water. Many song birds if you are into that. No electric or dump

Crown Point Campground is located in a state park, next to the border of Vermont in New York. The day we arrived, there had been a torrential down pour of rain with trees loosing branches and soaking the ground.
Just as we arrived, we checked in and everyone looked soaked. We got our site number (#1) and tried to make it there, but ended up getting stuck as we sunk into the mud. This was a grass site with a dirt road. Fortunately, they were able to reassign us to another spot on gravel, but it was an unlisted site that happened to be open. The other sites that were possibilities were also flooded.
Kudos to the staff who work here though. They helped us get out of the mud, and over the next week, cleaned up the campground from all the debris that had scattered during the storm. It was a completely different campground than when we arrived.
This is a no hook-up campground, but there are many water spigots and a dump station on site. Generators are limited to specific hours during the day.
The frogs can be noisy at night but the birds are nice to hear during the day and there were lightning bugs present when we were there in mid-July.
The roads are tight with single lane one-way throughout the campground. Making the turn to get out was also tight and it's a one lane to a one lane. Just have to keep it to the far side and swing really wide.
We had too many trees at our new site and were unable to use Starlink. Verizon was decent at 3 bars on the phone and 4 bars with our cell antenna. AT&T was much better with the cell antenna at 5 bars.

Potentially this campground could be very pristine if the state put some effort to upgrade the facilities in general. They have many employees but do not appear to be productive. While staying, there was a lot rain and the grounds was water logged and flooded. As a result it go very muddy. The dump station was over flowing, when I informed the ground keeper, there was no urgency to rectify the issue.

This is a fairly primitive State Park campground. On the positive side, the historic site was great to walk to and we walked across the bridge to the museum on the Vermont side. If you like history like we do, this was good for a couple days. From the camping perspective, most sites do not have gravel pads and you are just parking on grass. The sites are not well marked and I was not even sure where I was supposed to be. I got fairly level at site 16, but most sites did not look level. There were a lot of water spigots near us, so that was good. In general the park is dated and a little run down. The biggest negative was generator usage by other rv’ers. They can be run from 9am to 11am, and 4pm to 7pm, but this was not enforced. The sites are close and we had fumes and vibrations that were annoying. We left during those times to avoid the hassle.

First, this is a beautiful area. Right next to the lake, the bridge and the historic site. There is a boat dock, light house and easy access to several small interesting towns.
Don't miss the lighthouse, the dock and the historic ruins of the other side of the street.
Unfortunately, I have to believe that this park is under funded. The bathrooms should be closed by the health department. Most of the roads throughout the park are a disaster. The sites are very mixed. Sites include parking on the grass or there are some sites that have a gravel pad.
There are water spigots throughout the park but challenging to use to fill and RV. There is a dump on the side of the road within the park but no fresh water.
If it rains, get ready for lots of mud! Pick your site wisely. Lots of drainage issues.
We used google earth to see our site. We wanted lots of sun for the solar panels. Unfortunately that also means that you are at the front of the park with lots of road noise during the day.
Campground is pretty clean but I marked it down due to the bathrooms.

This is a very nice, clean and quiet New York State park that is well situated to use as a base for exploring the southern Lake Champlain area. The campground is located on the shores of Lake Champlain and several of the sites have unobstructed lake views. Our site was forty feet from the lake but our view was obstructed by some trees. Ample lake access is available thought the campground.
The sites are large and will maintained. There are no services at the sites (i.e., no water, electric or sewer.) However, there are plenty of water spigots around the campground to provide water. Some sites are sunny while some are in partial shade. Generators are allowed during restricted hours but we did not notice much usage unlike some other NYS campgrounds where people seem determined to run them every minute that they are permitted. We had a nice partially sunny site that allowed out solar setup to keep the batteries fully charged. There is a convenient dump site on the premises.
Phone, internet (VZ hotspot,) FM radio (including NPR) and TV reception were very good.
The park offers a boat ramp giving boaters access to the entire 125 mile long Lake Champlain. Fort Ticonderoga Historical site is about 20 minutes away as well as the Lake Champlain Maritime Museum. Both of these sites offer superb insight into the history of this strategic area from the early-1700's through the War of 1812. There is a historical site on the property that played a major role during the Revolutionary War.
