Trash bin was a bit smelly. Otherwise pretty clean.

I would have loved this spot. Great view of river. Many locations along the Colo. river bank have packed-in homesites or long term RV resorts. But, this CG has a nice natural view on the opposite shore, except for a small 2 lane rd. There are tamarisk trees on the shore side campsites for shade. No groundfires allowed. But, each site has a grill. However, although I have never been told one could not burn wood in one of these, the host told me that wood fires are not allowed in them, per BLM rangers, due to ruination of the metal. (?huh?) Ok, so tell folks no LARGE fires. The sign of rules in front states fires allowed only in grills. So I could have argued with the Mike, the nice host. But, since deciding to leave after only 1 night, anyway, left it alone. Why did we leave after only 1 night? The noisy speed boats & jet skies made it nearly impossible to talk during daylight hours. Other reviewers said it did not bother them & maybe the time of year, cold weather, was a contributing factor. Fortunately, no noise problem overnight. However, it was frequent & too loud for us during this hot summer (even though it was mid October) weather. Breeze off the river, is cooling as is the shade, despite a hot day. There is a small beach area for swimming or launching a kayak. Although, I did not & would think twice with all the speed boat traffic.

I had kayaked from Parker to here a couple days before, so I stayed here so that I could paddle the rest of the way up to the dam and back (I only made it to the rapids about a mile below the dam). Nice level spots. If you don’t see the wild burros/donkeys, you’ll probably at least hear them.

For us, Crossroads is just such a place. Dry camping to be sure, the only service provided is trash collection. No water, no power, no dump station, no wifi and for us (TMobile), problematic cell service. Also no pavement, although there are some oddly placed concrete pads scattered around. It's not a big place, something like 26 sites total. But being BLM it is affordable. With our interagency pass we paid only $2.50 per night plus the ($8?) reservation fee. Roughly 3/4's of the sites are on the river or within sight of it. Even the 6 overflow sites are within 150 yards of the water. If you are allergic to the sound of unmuffled v8 ski boats or whinny jet skiis, then you'll notice that there is some traffic on the river through your front yard. Didn't bother us in the least.

I camp at a lot of both BLM and federal campgrounds. I would have to say this camp host is above average.
If I was hard pressed to give a negative it would be to cut down the over growth for a better view of the river. ( Camp host has no control over this). I gave only four stars for site because of the placement of the barbeque stand. It seems to be in the way if you have a Travel Trailer.

Spots 10-19 are on the river, which are usually reserved but we squeezed in as a walk up to #15 for our last 2 nights. So nice on the river but be prepared for a little more boat & road noise, but worth the view. We loved #7 which faces west with a grassy area & Mountain View’s. You just have #8 to the right & while we were there, a huge RV was parked the other direction so was more private than the river side. There’s a campground beach area right across that’s wonderful to hang out at. Lots of off-roading near by, river bars (Pirates Den & Foxes we’re our favorites), Outlaw Saloon is right down the street with awesome pizza & Lake Havasu is a beautiful drive for a day trip. Be prepared for wild burros roaming the area & sounding their alarms & spotty cell service. Would stay here again for sure & book a river site through recreation.gov next time! #10-14 or 18/19 at the end (15 was nice too but right next to host & a little tighter front area, 16-18 closer to each other). Cheers!

We prefer small or even unimproved dispersed camping, but, along the Parker Strip, good boondocking is hard to find. Thanks to others, we decided to try this BLM campground and have not been disappointed.
First, it is small, only 26 sites, and 6 of those are not along the banks of the river- that said, was not a problem for us. This is a BLM park, and only 5 bucks per night regardless of site. It seems after talking with our neighbors that they only recently joined recreation.gov so now you can reserve sites here. They have a 2 day reservation window though, so lots of opportunities to walk-up and get sites. Our row, being off the river had openings the whole time we were here.
Clean toilets, dumpster but no other services. Wild Burros wander the valley here, and came through each night to graze in a field just behind us, was fun to watch, but don't get too close, they are protective of their young, and, not fond of dogs (can't distinguish them from coyotes).
There are sites right on the banks that could accommodate big rigs and plenty of other sites that all sized rigs can fit and room to turn around to the left if facing the river if you choose to drive in to explore- don't go to the right until you are sure you want those spots, they are for smaller rigs than ours. We enjoyed exploring the Parker Dam, hiked over into the former town of Crossroads too. Parker is on the other side of the river, but easy access to shopping, fuel and restaurants. Some road noise from Parker Dam Road and from the road just on the other bank, but not terrible and quiet enough at night.
