This is a first come first serve rustic park with 3 types of sites...no hookups $20, water/electric $25, and water/electric/sewer $35. All power is 30/20amps. Arrived Friday noon for Fourth of July weekend and was surprised to find 4 or 5 available locations. 3 or 4 sites were full with monthly/seasonal rentals. Campground is adjacent to small pond with active Osprey nest. It is also part of the Atrium County Fair grounds. Open from April 1st to October 31st. All sites are level but uneven grass. Tight turns for Class A but a couple smaller Class units were here. One mile bike ride into Bellaire. Shorts Brewery and a couple other eateries. FamilyFare grocery and laundromat located within 1/2 mile. One pair of restrooms and bathhouse, needs a little TLC.

We chose this city campground because everything else In the area was booked...on a Wednesday...in mid-August! This is a first come first serve rustic park with 3 types of sites...no hookups $15, water/electric $20, and water/electric/sewer $25. Each site has a (brand new) fire pit and moveable metal picnic table. There is a dump onsite and restrooms/one shower in each, which was open during COVID (cleaned each day in the morning, according to the sign). Showers are 25 cents for 2 minutes and work fine. Due to the layout/trees, would not recommend large RVs. We have a 32' TT and there were only a few sites we could back into.
Quite a few sites available when we arrived Wednesday afternoon, but they filled up by Friday. Sites are mostly level and dirt/sand/grass mix. Many of the trailers (and one motorhome) here are seasonal and older but tidy and quiet. Grass needed mowing and electrical boxes/water spigots are shared between 4 sites so make sure you have plenty of cord/hose to reach. Lots of mature trees. Lake (more like a large pond) was nice with lots of birds. Town of Bellaire is quaint and has a brewery, restaurants, shops, a grocery store, and McDonakds/Subway. Close to several large lakes and within 30-45 minutes of Lake Michigan. Playground in park as well as ball fields. This park is apparently part of the fairgrounds but all was quiet during COVId summer. There is some noise from a nearby manufacturing plant but can’t hear it inside.
When coming in from the south, signs have you access the park from Broad St so you drive straight into the park instead of turning right into the tight entrance.
This is a good alternative if everything else in the area is booked! Verizon was good.
The Cappy's would stay here again
