Arrived Christmas Day and left New Year's eve. No camp hosts on duty as it was government shut down. Lots of campers clustered together at the one mile mark where allowed camping starts. We did see a family of mountain goats as we pulled in the first day but no other animals viewed after that. I did take quite a few walks on various paths and the differing terrain was nice. Nice hills to climb and good views. The area was clean, very little trash lying around. Several ATV's and motorcycles but only saw them passing by the main road. It was quiet and peaceful. Found a cute cave with a marker stating home of Bilbo and Froto near a campsite. Not a lot of good private places for large rigs-a few I saw but were occupied. We ended up at a site with no room to really put out chairs and awning but it was very cold and windy most of the days we were there so no big deal. The road back is hard paved and quite easy up until about mile 3. After that it gets looser and sandier. I walked back to mile 4.5 and saw no one camping from 3 to 4.5 but a a couple cars met me coming from farther back. Walmart is a quick drive but it is on the edge of town. Was about 8 miles or so to London Bridge and the "sites". We had to turn around twice coming back from seeing the Christmas lights one night. The road is not marked and can be hard to find in the dark. We had good cell service and wifi was streeming a bowl game, a UFC fight, and the Warriors game all at the same time with no lag. We had 20 free channels via tv as well.

OK let me start off with some help for others. We have a dually and a 35’ 5th wheel.
We turned at the very end of the airport on the North side. Very easy to miss.
Road is rocky, speed limit 15, 10 was fine for us. Seen worse... BUT!!!! we followed the road in and it curves to the right naturally about a mile in. We did not see a road to the left where the curve begins.
We made the mistake of turning off the main road and going down and back up a 3’ dip. Bent steps, bent stabilizer, and almost pulled out of back. Had we used the lesser road that goes straight there would have been no problems. Our fault.
The area is good, got 2 bars Verizon 4G with no antenna. Very close to Walmart, Home Depot, and all that come with it. We also saw Bighorn Sheep on ghe drive into camp one afternoon. Will come back.

There were quite a few people here but everyone seemed to respect others space and it wasn’t trashy like one of the previous reviews. I’m thinking someone went in there and cleaned up. There was still a lot of broken glass and nails/screws in some spots but for the most part it was pretty cleaned up.

We stayed at Craggy Wash last February and loved it, were excited to be returning this year. But what a difference a year makes. Last year there was a very thorough host at the entrance and this year there is nobody there and the host one mile up the road doesn't seem to be writing permits or monitoring length of stay. Not sure if this is what's made the difference.
There's garbage, bagged and left in some of the sites and here and there along the road. There is half-burned food and garbage in firepits, which attracts rodents and is a concern for those of us with dogs.
People aren't picking up after their dogs. We have an old dog who can only manage the roadway for his walks and it is just a trail of poo. Disgusting.
The burning of pallets and the nails it leaves behind is an issue everywhere but definitely here. There's even a stack of broken pallets in one of the empty campsites along the road.
It was busy here last year but this year it seems the traffic is constant, especially in the afternoons. Trucks, cars, vans, ATVs going by regularly, many going faster than the posted limit and creating dust and noise. Some vehicles drive by us numerous times each day.
When you see this many people camping in tents, cars, vans, and other units that are not self-contained, and there are no pit toilets or other facilities, you have to wonder where they're going. So far I've only seen toilet paper here and there at the bottoms of bushes, but where there's paper...
I hate to say it because it's such a beautiful area with abundant wildlife, but we are unlikely to camp here again unless we hear that it has been cleaned up and that people are just camping here, not living.

We camped in here with several other families and loved it. Kids enjoyed climbing all of the hills and mountains. Husband climbed Kong Rock. Sunsets were beautiful. We loved this space and would so go back again! Your 10 minutes up the road from town, so its quick access. There are a few sketchy people camping along the wash, but they kept to themselves. Its a huge variety of people. Huge rids to tents that have been there for a while. Overall, a great spot!

Easy on and off from the freeway. Cell reception can vary depending on where you camp so beware of that. It can get busy on the weekends so best to arrive early on an off day. No trash service so pack it out and help keep places like this open and free for everyone to enjoy.

We truly enjoyed our mid December stay in Craggy Wash. Both ATT and Verizon had great service.
We couldn't have asked for anything more! Up to 14 nights free of charge, ATV friendly, close to movies and shopping, fishing, hiking, safe, sightseeing and great cell service. The presence of campground hosts help to keep this little gem what it is.
Lake Havasu City is an ATV friendly town and we were able to take side streets and trails to get around town. The wind was blowing the entire time we were here so we couldn't take the kayaks out. I was able to go to a nearby fishing dock and catch catfish. Since it was only 10 minutes away we took in two movies while staying there.
The entrance is at the north end of the airport and it's about 1 mile on a fair dirt road to the camping area. There is a restaurant and brewery located at the municipal airport and it was a nice treat.
Warning: don't venture too far off of the established driving areas. Thousands of pallets must have been burned here over the years and there are nails everywhere.
This was definitely a happy place for us and our videos reflected it.

We have camped in Craggy Wash for about 7 seasons now & have always enjoyed our visit. However, on Christmas day 2016 as we were attempting to enter Craggy Wash, we encountered a new, white haired old woman camp host with an overzealous attitude who refused our admission because she thought that she had seen us camped at another nearby BLM campground recently. She also wrongly accused us of not picking up after our dogs. All these years we have always made a point to pick up after our dogs!
Therefore, I believe there needs to be a rating for camp host attitude which would perhaps eliminate people with this gestapo type attitude from having any authority over OUR PUBLIC LANDS.
It appears there are postings on this website by the camp host to be the same person & attitude that we encountered and if so, I sincerely hope for the sake of future campers enjoyment, she reads & fully understands the BLM rules and regulations & not just her personal misguided interpretation and chooses NOT to return next winter
To this camp host I say "hope you had a Merry Christmas" as you surely dampened ours!
