Crowded, rough roads, some sketchy full timers. Host site looks like a junk pile, joke. Too many OHVs. Not much of a Verizon signal the further back you go. First & definitey last time here.

Verizon was almost non existent at the 2.5 mile mark where we set up. Easy in, though there are oil pan knockers for low clearance vehicles to watch for (most are painted red.)

First of all the camp host was a huge help with information and keeping the place clean. We stayed right at the 2 mi marker. We took the truck further but would not take our camper past 2.5. Very rough. Great path to walk. Friendly people. In town we found Smiths grocery had best diesel price and wood. They also had free water. Not sure if it’s potable. DO NOT buy circle K wood. We dumped at the end of our stay at Lake Havasu State Park for $15. Recommend Hangar 24 for great food microbrew and live music. If OHVs annoy you, you may not like this place at all. The locals are not respectful of the speed limit and dust. We didn’t mind too much because you gotta expect that in BLM camping.

It’s only about 4-5 miles to Walmart for supplies and 8-9 miles to downtown Lake Havasu City (London Bridge).
There was significant trash at the campsite so I picked that up so that when I leave, the site will be tidy for the next person. Plenty of dry firewood to pick up and take back to the site. No need to bring it.

I don’t get the bad reviews. Maybe it was trashed in the past, but someone has been cleaning up. I saw one abandoned camper at the beginning of the camping area with no one camped around it, but the canyon goes back for a long ways and there are plenty of spots. There was also one tire by the road and I thought someone had set it there for garbage pickup in the future. There was no trash near our spot. The road is good enough for my 38’ class A with a toad. It is a scenic area compared to other boondock areas around Lake Havasu, as most others are gravel pit looking spots. We were there the last of January 2023. Walmart is close, we watched the football game at the Hangar bar at the airport, which is very near.

We have camped in Craggy Wash for about 7 seasons now & have always enjoyed our visit. However, on Christmas day 2016 as we were attempting to enter Craggy Wash, we encountered a new, white haired old woman camp host with an overzealous attitude who refused our admission because she thought that she had seen us camped at another nearby BLM campground recently. She also wrongly accused us of not picking up after our dogs. All these years we have always made a point to pick up after our dogs!
Therefore, I believe there needs to be a rating for camp host attitude which would perhaps eliminate people with this gestapo type attitude from having any authority over OUR PUBLIC LANDS.
It appears there are postings on this website by the camp host to be the same person & attitude that we encountered and if so, I sincerely hope for the sake of future campers enjoyment, she reads & fully understands the BLM rules and regulations & not just her personal misguided interpretation and chooses NOT to return next winter
To this camp host I say "hope you had a Merry Christmas" as you surely dampened ours!

I have just read two recent reports (Jan 2023) of the area, one positive with a full time host and a cleanup of the garbage. The other report is similar to our 2019 experience of disarray.
This was a gem years ago but like anything else, the few destroy it for the rest.
I hope that the reported change is correct and underway. Happy boondocking and safe trails.
