"Clean, Safe, Hookups, Very quiet, Spacious Stop Along I-5"
Arrived at 8 pm on a weeknight, lots of available level sites. Will stay again when in need of an overnight on this stretch of the 5. Tip for arriving after 8 when staff closes the entry kiosk: just pick an empty site and pay on way out in morning. This is the advice a ranger gave us when we could not figure out how to pay, as there is no self...
When we arrived and were shown our “water view” site, we were shocked. It was very small and there was no room for our car. The woman on duty was very pleasant and she moved us to a pull through site at no additional charge, as she put it.
At $141/night we had expected much better. We will be on the road cross country all summer and this is...
Artillery Ridge is located, essentially, within the Gettysburg Battlefield. The location is what makes this a great choice to stay while touring the area.
You will see horses. You will probably smell horses. My campsite was approximately 100 yards from the stables and though I occasionally got a “whiff” it wasn’t, by any means a deal breaker....
"Seriously Best Campground - And Huge Local Surf Spot"
Incredible people. Tax free great priced commissary right across the highway, amazing spots. Oceanfront is litterally right on the beach! If you love the loud noise of ocean waves crashing on the shore all night (who doesn’t) this campground is for you.
Campground was clean, quiet, & comfortable. Bathrooms were clean. Did not shower so cannot comment on showers. No dump station but sites look to be all full hook-ups. Management was helpful. Would overnight here again.
