Overview of Colin Neblett Wildlife Area
The Colin Neblett backcountry including Tolby and Maverick
Trails are closed to all entry during deer fawning and elk calving May
15-July 31. Clear Creek Trail remains open May 15-July 31. The
backcountry and ALL trails are closed during big game hunts as published
in the NM Rules and Info Booklet. Licensed hunters and their hunting
party are exempt from closures during their hunt/scouting period
Accessibility is not guaranteed, always scout ahead before driving down dirt roads.

Overall Rating
This site is only open to licensed hunters during very limited times. It is flat and clean. The road to it requires high clearance and sometimes 4x4.
Tolby campground is just around the bend and has all services.
