Full hookups, and close proximity to everything.

The sites are a little tight, but what do you expect for a busy area near the beach. It’s Pismo, it’s popular. Normally, the sites would be too close together. However, due to COVID, every other site in the section where we stayed was vacant, leading to extra parking for our dolly and toad. Roads to get to the site are a little difficult to navigate with a big rig. Nice laundry facilities, Very nice showers. Friendly and helpful staff.

The neighbors had lots of trash laying around. They run the sprinklers constantly which keeps the pretty grass wet and very messy going in and out of your RV. We had issues with the neighbors fighting, We called the office and they said ok they would have the grounds man drive by. I never seen them. They also had guns. Very scary experience and do not recommend it. I felt safer on the side of the road sleeping.

Traffic noise from HWY 1 on one side and train tracks on other, but Amtrak trains only run 1/2 dozen times a day and usually not at night. Spots are grass, but fairly firm, reasonably level. We had a 30A and 20A plug in our double wide spot. When booking don't be confused like I was about site lengths/size. I was afraid I would not be able to park my toad in a 30' standard spot, but found out they had additional areas to park your toad ot Tow truck, no extra charge.Close to dunes, bike paths etc. If I were to choose a spot again I would get one along the back by the railway tracks. Or center row. A little less road noise there.

I was attending a weekend Jeep event at Pismo Dunes and had booked a space in the OHV area on the beach. When I got there the wind was so bad it was impossible to put up a tent. So I looked up this place, which is probably 1/2 mile from the entrance to the beach.
The campground has mixture of tent and pull-through sites. All sites have full hookups, and include a fire ring and picnic table. The bathrooms were clean and had showers, but everything was very old. There was also a pool and laundry rooms on the property.
The sites were flat, but there was no barrier between you and your neighbors. The RV sites looked very cramped but the tent sites seemed adequately spaced for the most part. I stayed in site 252 which appeared to be some kind of double site, because there were two sets of hookups in the space (one of which required a large pole in the middle of the site).
In spite of the convenience of the location, there were drawbacks. The campground is narrow and situated directly between PCH and the railroad tracks on either side. So traffic noise was significant, and as an added bonus, every now and then Amtrack would roll past.
Over all, it met all the basic needs, was well maintained, and was close to the beach. And the noise was probably less than I would get sleeping in the OHV camping area.

We checked in on a Saturday at 2pm with no reservation ( state campgrounds all full) and there was still space available at 7pm.
Sites were a little tight, but all grass- nice change from the mostly gravel sites we’ve been in-and lots of choice for pull thru or back in.
Not the best on the beach (1/2 mile walk) but clean with full hook ups @ $52 on weekends $48 weekdays (no wifi) it’s ok to spend a night and get recharged to spend a few more days in the “no service “ State parks.

This was my very first camping park in my trailer. The camp ground is fairly maintained. They have permanent residents on one side of the park, which was poorly maintained. The campsites will fit one trailer and a tent. You’re very close to your neighbor and could hear all conversations! The campsite is located close to the beach and downtown. Unfortunately the park is 10 feet from the train. The train starts running around 8 AM and stops running around 9 PM every night. I would not recommend this park related to the noise level. There is no ranger at night to enforce the noise level. You may check in at any time, which is nice. You can easily stop by and nobody would ever know!
