The showers are immaculate. The price and location can’t be beat.

Check in was a breeze once we found the place! The signage is small & at the bottom of a sign that had other businesses on it. The park was tight but it was so relaxing! The river runs next to the park so you felt relaxed right away. Our site was a pull through but one of the staff came out to make sure we got in correctly & connected to the right hookups. The water hookup for our site was on the other side of the site so we had to run our hose under our rig, not a problem though. We were located in site “O” and we were on the end so we only had one side of us that had trailers next to us. We could see the river and the bike/walk path out our back window so we loved the view. The river was closed to people to swim or tube down so I think that was one of the reason it was so relaxing. Not a lot of people! We walked or biked the bath just about every day! We walked into town for dinner or to visit an art fair that was going on or to a farmers market on Saturday. So much to see and do or just sit under a tree and read a book! There are restrooms and showers that are nice and cleaned. They also have a laundry room. We didn’t use those either but they had several washers and dryers. They also have 3 or 4 sites for tents, but I didn’t notice much shade for them.

We squeezed our 30' motorhome in one of the outer sites. There is little room between vehicles in this tiny city park campground. It is expensive for what you get, in our opinion. Having said that, we stay here every time we come to Golden because the staff is so good, the facilities are immaculately clean, there are miles of walking trails, and it is so convenient to old town Golden. Be aware that this CG is part of a city park and there are constantly walkers, bikers and tubers walking along the area. We have never had a problem, but we had to get used to it. It's always popular to be sure to book early.

I stayed at Clear Creek RV park in Aug 2023. It is one of the nicest parks I've stayed. My site (site A) backed to the walking path and the creek but was separated from those by a split rail fence. I enjoyed watched people pass by on the busy path and watching "tubers" float down the creek. It is a 10 minute walk along the same path to town for lots of food and entertainment. The park is well cared for, the facilities in excellent condition. The staff were helpful and friendly. The sites are tight. My site barely fit my 18 foot teardrop trailer and mid-size pickup. The site was gravel with a paved pad and a good condition picnic table. I had good 5G ATT service. The park offers wifi. I booked my 2-day stay about a month in advance, not far enough in advance to stay more nights. I paid $85/night.

Buffalo Bill is buried nearby, and the museum was very interesting and full of information.

We made a reservation over the phone and paid in full for two nights for our 40’ class A motorhome. A few days later we moved the reservation to arrive and depart one day earlier, also on the phone. Never was it mentioned that our 40-foot RV would be an issue. So, we arrive right at check-in time, see the attendant in the office and receive our paperwork. We are told we are in site I, so we proceed around the very small and tightly packed circle to our spot. When we get the first look at the spot, we realize this is a small space with a tight back-in, but we’ve seen worse and are very experienced at navigating tight spaces. We don’t even get completely backed in before the attendant comes out to say she doesn’t think we can fit in the spot. She said it’s for a 25’ RV, but I had already measured it and since she said if we don’t stick out into the road it should be fine. Then she changed her story and told us we had to leave and that she would not be refunding our full stay of two nights.
We couldn’t believe it. She was adamant about us leaving immediately and said she could not be swayed on the refund. We asked to speak to a manager, or the owner, and she offered to call the police instead. We graciously accepted her offer to call the police because there was a crime being committed here. She went into the office, and we continued to back our rig into the spot to demonstrate that we could fit and that we would not impede the road at all. Indeed, we even parked our car in the spot where it would normally go, and the car stuck farther out into the road than the RV did.
We went back into the office to show her a picture of this and how unreasonable it was for her to kick us out with no refund. She continued to say how it was our fault for not confirming that our RV would fit into that spot, even though I never saw or heard anything about a specific space when I made the reservation on the phone. Clearly, the person taking the reservation should never have put a 40’ RV in a space reserved for 25’ RVs, but this was not our mistake. I completely understand if we were oversized for the space (which we were not), but to not even admit to the mistake, make apologies, and offer a refund just goes to show how quick this place is to steal your money.
Once we returned to the office again, she was on the phone with the owner or manager – after attempting to call the non-emergency police line first – they finally did offer us a refund. Yet, they kept $13.50 of the total which amounted to the taxes. This could have just been a simple mistake and misunderstanding, but the attendant in the office held no empathy or compassion, nor a desire to even learn where the mistake could have been made – she immediately insisted it was out fault elevated things to the highest level. We will never consider this campground again and will spread the word to all of our full-timing friends about this place in Golden.

Spent the first two weeks of April here. The RV park is in a great location, near enough to walk to downtown Golden. Also has great walking and biking trails off the park. We enjoyed our stay here. The staff was very nice, the bathrooms, showers and laundry room were kept very clean. Also the city of golden offered WiFi for this park.
