“Nice Forested Campground Outside Haines”

Overall Rating
We tent-camped three nights here during a visit to Haines. Beautiful big tree forest and Chilkoot River make for a very pleasant atmosphere. It can rain a lot here, so come prepared.

Overall Rating
Nice big sites. Easy to access. A few lakeside but one you could launch a kayak from. It was mostly do and off/on rain but very pretty. You could walk to the river and watch bears in late Aug/early Sep.

Overall Rating
Very beautiful campground along Chilkoot lake and river. Saw several bears in the morning along the river. Site are very private and treed. Very quiet at night. A true gem.

This campground is an absolute gem. Enjoy spectacular views as you drive down the Lutak Inlet and along the Chilkoot River where bears are commonly seen dining on salmon. At the end of Lutak Road you'll reach the campground and with any luck you'll snag a site on the lake. We launched our kayak directly from camp and spent the evening ... more
This campground is an absolute gem. Enjoy spectacular views as you drive down the Lutak Inlet and along the Chilkoot River where bears are commonly seen dining on salmon. At the end of Lutak Road you'll reach the campground and with any luck you'll snag a site on the lake. We launched our kayak directly from camp and spent the evening exploring the lake and nearby waterfalls. It was magical!
