Camped 5/15/21 (Sat night). Rate was for an electric site; non-electric was $7 at the time of our stay. This park is about 5 miles north of I-80 along the Cedar River. As you enter from 255th St., the road that goes right goes to a tent camping area and a shelter. The dirt road left goes to the trailer camping area, and it extends back along the river to another camping loop with electric. Further still was another area, perhaps for group camping as there was a boy scout troop tent camping there.
There were quite a few campers in the first big grassy RV area, but they were not positioned in any set way. Seemed like locals or groups of families perhaps. In this area, sites past the VT were side by side though, with electric posts, but were kind of muddy. We opted to continue down the road to the loop by the river. Sites there were side by side and electric, and some were up a grassy "ramp" in back of the side-by-side sites. Kind of weird, but I guess they figured it was a place to add more sites with electric. There was a view of the river and only one other camper in the loop.
Our site was large, grassy (no pad), level, had a double grate fire ring and a picnic table. No water. Quite a few cigarette butts and some trash, which we cleaned up. It was mostly shade in the tall trees. Cell service at the loop didn't work well - went between 1-2 bars. The VT by us was a short walk, over by the second quarry. Park amenities include a boat ramp to the river with a parking area, VTs w/TP (ours was clean), kids play area and basketball court (in the big grassy RV area), trash cans, 2 quarries for fishing and some walking trails.
