Great forest location. Over 100 sites.
We stayed on a Wednesday and saw maybe 4 other campers total. Would recommend.
If you don’t have high clearance just be sure to watch for the painted “large” rocks on the road.
Some spots are small, but some are large. Just drive til you find what you need.
Fire pits and privys at all sites.

I packed up my truck and headed out to Cedar River Flow Campsites to do some paddling and hoping to score a campsite. It was a Thursday so there is a chance it'll be full. There are campsites on each side of the dam there. The dam is narrow so campers may not fit across. Upon arrival at the campground, the main campsites on the main road were all full but the sites on the other side of the dam were empty. I was able to claim site 10. There was a fire circle, a privy and a picnic table. I set up my site and went paddling for the rest of the day. The sites are not all that level and are dirt. Cedar River campsites are on Cedar River Road off Route 28/30 just outside Indian Lake. The road in is paved for the first 3-4 miles then turns to dirt. The road narrows but is passable to low clearance vehicles. On the way in you'll pass Wakely Pond. If you follow the road past the Cedar River Flow Campsites it'll take you into the Moose River Plains. Please sign in at the Rangers station if heading into the plains as its a massive area and people disappear in there almost every year. When traveling the road please watch for hikers as part of the road is used for the Northville/Placid trail. There is no potable water available, privy toilets only and weak cell phone signal!! Make sure you bring all that you will need in and carry out any trash. There is a hand launch by the dam for canoes and kayaks and a parking area for those not camping. There are a number of paddle up sites on the flow. Rangers are around daily and issue tickets for trash/garbage left no warnings. Sites are usually all full on weekends and holidays. There is no reservations.....first come first serve!!! I truck camped while I was there.
ADK Man would stay here again
