To start, I had a bad experience with staff at Seven Points and the staff here at Cedar Creek was warm and friendly, always striking up conversation, nothing but kind to me. Reasons it’s the best rec.gov site close to Nashville, first it has better availability. It’s much easier to get a site for a week here than most other campgrounds. The bathrooms/showers are private rooms with locks, basically a family shower room with lots of space to shower the whole fam. All sites are close to beach and campground. The beach has its own bathroom right next to it. Most sites seemed really level to me. The campground road is a little tight in spots with trees all around but nothing I couldn’t handle and I prefer the campgrounds like that. Tree coverage on most sites. 1 coin washer and dryer outside. And I don’t know who cares to know but Starbucks is only 10 minutes down the road. It was perfect for my family. We got a ton of insect bites at Anderson Road campground and it doesn’t have a playground. This one is a little further from downtown but def best for me.

Well, it felt like less of a campground and more like a suburban neighborhood. This isn't traditional camping, where people go to gaze at the stars, enjoy nature and revel in the peaceful outdoors. The campground was mostly large RVs and trailers, with every accessory known to man: Big, flat screen TVs set up under large tents; metal fence enclosures for numerous dogs, large arrays of lawn furniture and toys strewn about; excess vehicles parked on the grassy areas (a no-no per the rules) and plenty of lights strung up and placed under/around their rigs. There was also loud music which seemed to be from the nearby marina and it blared until 10 pm. Occasional, random people yelling in the middle of the night, although I'm not sure it was generated by residents of the campground. Even when there weren't any campfires nearby, the entire campground smelled like wet ash. I had a rather poor Verizon signal, which improved significantly just a mile from the campground.
If returning to this area, I would choose a different place to camp.

It was a terrifying experience trying to back our 40ft 5th wheel into site 57 which has ditches all around the drive and the road. We barely got it in and I’m terrified about getting it out. The park is pretty but some sites are better for smaller rigs.

We arrived pretty late after a bad weather detour. Stayed in site 3- it was level. The sites in the circles were close together, but other sites were much more spacious. Camp hosts were kind and we even go to enjoy the beach and got some swimming in! Would definitely stay again next time we’re in Nashville.

There is a dump station nearby in the campground. These have the best bathrooms I’ve seen yet at a COE campground. There’s two bathroom buildings - an older one and a newer one. the newer one has eight toilets with showers each in their own room. The showers have good water pressure and are hot and kept clean. We enjoyed touring the Andrew Jackson Hermitage mansion while we were here. It’s close to other attractions as well in Nashville.

The waterfront sites are much more spacious and are well worth the extra cost, had I known the layout better before, I would have been happy to pay the extra for one of those. We stayed here mostly to be in around the area but we also had a great time at the campground, while we didn't kayak or fish here it would be a great spot to do so. Access to the campground is through some relatively narrow roads but it's totally doable with a big rig, you just can't be asleep at the wheel. I'd give the campground a C+ or B- for maintenance. When we arrived the grass was severely overgrown but they cut it while we where here which really helped with the bugs. In general things at the campground were in OK shape, not falling apart but not sweet.
