We stayed one night in site 58 with our 35’ 5th wheel. Plenty of room, great views and the campground was very clean. Drove over to Rifle Falls for a quick hike. Would definitely come back.

Fairly new campground on a pretty reservoir at the foot of the Rockies. Generous campsites. Mine was an ADA site (#62). It was paved and perfectly level. It also had a concrete walk to the bathhouse. Very quiet. Electric and water. Bathhouse had okay showers. You needed to keep pressing a button to keep the water flow going.

Pinyon pines, sage, etc in between the sites for a little more privacy. All sites here had a sun shade over picnic table. Campfires were still allowed, no restrictions in place. Site had 30/50 amp connections and was very level. Camp host was very friendly and helpful. Pros: level sites, showers and toilets in the loop, pretty close access to the water, sites were spaced out fairly well, little to no road noise. Cons: Water is really low, some trash and dog poop hidden around the sites, strong winds can pick up at any time of day.

Beautiful site lakeside-clean bathrooms with sink, shower, flush toilets were nice. No cell reception whatsoever. Really gusty day but excellent scenery- lake seems pretty low but locals say level has risen slightly. Rifle Falls SP nearby & worth visiting. Nice easy walking paths were fun. Plan to revisit this summer. Host was great too

When we got there the office was closed, but we had already made reservations online for our site. The campground is laid out well. I loved our site, #61. Had a great view of the lake. I felt like the spaces have a good amount of privacy. We weren’t far from the bathrooms. My husband used them and said they were nice and clean. Our spot was immaculate. We had only electric hook up, but that was all we needed! I feel like this was a sweet little gem off the interstate, kind of like a hidden oasis. I would definitely stay here again. We stayed overnight on October 1. The place was fairly full. Glad we had reservations. Yes, AT&T does not have any cell service there. I’m OK with that, as I like to get off grid and away from crowds! I did notice that they do have portable water and a dump station, too. We have a 25 foot travel trailer, and had no issues maneuvering it around.

We arrived in Mid July it was 96 out. We had been in Colorado for 6 weeks & first heat wave we hit. Our site was very big with a great view of the lake & mountains. Camp hosts were wonderful people. There's an area in the state park with Full hook up but we wanted to be close to the lake. The lake was down so you couldn't walk down to launch the kayak we went to the boat ramp to do so.
We kayaked almost every day my husband loves fishing he caught a few nice Northern Pikes. We had a go fast boat come by us & just about swamped us. They come several times a week and take kids skiing. We pulled of on the island my husband was wading along shore & they full speed ahead (big wake) filled the kayak with water & soaked everything.
Rifle Falls is close we spent a few days there, hanging near the falls where it was cool. Take a book & a chair and relax. There is a campground at Rifle Falls to but busy with people coming in & out to the falls. There are 3 falls one you can walk behind. There is a trail that goes to the top with caves along the way you can look down. We went to Glenwood Springs & hung out in the hot mineral pools all day. We hear there's one in Iron Mountain that is less populated, smaller pools & less kids. Rifle is a pretty area there is a nice golf coarse close to the campground but we don't play.

Other loops have either electric and water or full hook-ups. We didn't really need those, though. Sites were level and wide gravel. I'm not sure about the cell service, but I'm guessing it wasn't good enough for creating a hot spot, since we didn't use Internet that night. The best thing about this campground is the view. Wow, just wow! The water was quite low in the reservoir, but that didn't spoil our views. We could look right out across the lake.
