It is a wonderful location, close to North Scottsdale and in the beautiful Sonoran desert. We took a hike and visited the nature center. The sites are closer together than at McDowell Mountain Regional Park.

Really lovely campground, we were here 9 days 3/20-3/29. Our site was easy to level up in with our 32ft fifth wheel, and on one side we had a great view, couldn’t even see our closest neighbor. The only bummer was the rodeo that went on for 4 days and felt like it was a stones throw away- loud music/announcers and lights till 10pm. But other than that it was exceptionally quiet at night. Nice hiking right from the campground, we hit the wildflowers almost perfectly. Showers were fairly hot for no temperature control, although one had a firehose of a shower head. Would definitely come here again

So we have friends that like to stay here every year. Since we live in the valley, we often just drive up and visit. This time we decided to drag the camper up there. Reserved the site for an overnighter several months in advance, even then, there were only two sites available. We took the better one :-).
The campground is clean and quiet, we had power and water, but no sewer. There are several bathrooms with showers, a playground, some hiking trails and a couple of horse corrals. There is a dump station on the way out, but it is problematic. The pads are angled away from the drain and the water supply had a tiny nipple on the end (kinda like gas stations back in the day), rather than a hose or a place to attach a hose. The site was just big enough to back my 25' trailer into and park without having to unhitch. It was sloped up, but level once I was fully in. Since my flush port has a wire mesh filter, this little nipple proved absolutely worthless for flushing.
If you like camping in the city, this place will meet your needs and give you a bit of desert to enjoy. Personally, I would not camp here again, but then I am more of a dispersed camping guy.

We absolutely loved this campground for the desert beauty, the quiet and how clean everything was, including the flush toilets and showers. The sites seem so far apart compared to other campgrounds we've stayed at. It was quiet during both day and night, except last night when the coyotes were howling. For $32/day plus an $8 online registration fee, we had both electric and water hookups and used the dump station on the way out. There are 16 miles of hiking, and the temperatures were ideal in December. There is a gate at the entrance that closes at 8 pm, but campers have a code to come in and out. It's provided on your registration documents. Verizon worked flawlessly. We even looked at extending our stay here, but it was fully booked. We can't wait to come back!

We stayed here for 4 nights, but stayed so busy that we basically just slept here. My 4yo daughter did get a free pony ride at the stables when they approached to ask if she could pet the horses! There’s a playground up the road too. The dump station is currently closed for renovations until May 31, 2021. Good electric and water hookups at the site. No shade, but no complaints. Hearing the coyotes all around at night is pretty freaky! We hear coyotes at home frequently, but never this many coyotes this close!! Our dog wanted to come inside the RV quickly every night once the howling started up!

The park is 15 to 20 minutes from Cave Creek and Carefree which offer shopping dining and a variety of tourist options. Drive another 30 to 45 minutes and you can get to Phoenix.
There is no wifi, but we had good service with our tracfones.
