Free camping with the basic Thousand Trails membership that we received with the purchase of our RV.
We stayed here for 2 nights in November, 2023.
We were assigned a decent-length pull-through site in a shaded area of the park. The sites were a little close together, but not too cramped. The park was mostly full and many of the sites seemed occupied by seasonal campers in various conditions...a few looked as though they had been abandoned there for a long time...most others were fine. Our site was gravel and mostly level. It was a little narrow due to all the trees, but it was manageable. Beware of falling pine cones and dripping sap. No issues with the sewer, water or 30A service.
The staff was very nice and the although the park was older, and the interior roads were rough in many areas, all facilities and the laundry room were in good working order.
The park is located conveniently near I-85, close enough to gas stations, grocery stores and restaurants, but far enough away be very quiet.
Cell service was good making streaming a remote work no trouble.
Overall it was a decent stay and we would stay here again when passing though.

I had a dog and they have plenty of trash cans throughout for poop bags. They have a text service to communicate with the office, but they were available in the office as well. I had great Verizon service, but I paid for their internet (there’s no free internet that works) and I had trouble with it. Ended up using my hotspot. There’s not much in the immediate area except two very nice truck stops that have Amazon lockers. Anderson is about 30 minutes away and was the best place to shop. Great location to get to the surrounding areas! Overall, great stay!

Ok, like others we heard the horror stories of leveling in this park. With that said, lets address the elephant in the room. Yes, the sites are for the most part, uneven. Thousand trails should send in someone with leveling experience and a D8 to level each site to the best of its surrounding. With that said, if you have a clue about your rig and the proper way of leveling such rigs you should be able to find an adequate site, especially with the staff taking the time out to show you options. I have a 34' "Old school" HR with no auto levelers or assistants at all. What I do have is two levels inside the coach that allows me the option to put it in a position to minimalize the amount of plastic levels needed to get the coach " as close to" level as possible.
The park itself. very friendly staff as well as annuals. As a person whom has spent the past 4 years FT in many different TT parks and private ones and also worked for a TT park I love meeting new people and this park is right up there with great people all around. I will also say they keep their dogs quiet which you will find more and more in the TT parks something of a challenge. Don't fret I love dogs as well but you all know what I am referring to. Too cold to use the pool, but it seems fine and all the other amenities as well. For a 60 year old park, it isn't in that bad of shape at all. Road noise from I85 is heard but minimal. If you have a 42' anything, expect issues as the rig is far to big to be in most spots. major grocers, restaurants and more are less then 30 minutes away in all directions.
Like I said, try it before you dislike it!

The only good thing about this campground is the lake and cell phone service. One of the worst Thousand Trails we’ve been to. I do not recommend if you have a big rig.

Many negatives with this campground, my main complaint is the staff. Manager was very rude when inquiring about pool balls and cue sticks. Had several issues with our site. Electric and water. i seemed to be a bother to the manager. She approached me in a very negative, aggerated, condescending way. Not the way i will be talked to. I believe this manager is used to speaking to lower clientele.
Just bypass any contact with the Manager Donna and you should have a blast!

We only stopped over. The pool and other amenities looked great but we didn’t use. Our spot was paved, but not even close to level. The roads were very tight. The showers and restrooms were clean. Wi-Fi was an extra fee. Lots of trash on the ground.

I can't give Carolina Landing five stars because the sites are so close together. Also, our site - A5 - was super unlevel. I felt unsafe with our fifth wheel's two left tires up in the air after auto-leveling. That was a first for us, and hope we never have to do that again. The hill getting up to our site was steep. This place is full of big rigs, however, it is not conducive to them. Every turn is tight.
The dog in the camper next to us was allowed to bark nonstop when it came outside. The park staff even texted us after arrival to see how things were going, and also again mid-way through our stay. I mentioned the dog. Nothing happened. The neighbors did manage to hear the dog after about ten minutes each time, and they did put it up, but gosh. That's a lot of unnecessary barking.
Currently, the pool is green, but I expect that will change soon. The mini-golf needs some love, but it's in pretty good condition considering some that we've seen other places. The clubhouse, office, bath houses, and laundry are nice and clean. The staff is friendly. The tall tall trees are beautiful.
We didn't meet any of our neighbors as almost no one comes out of their campers. The weather was very nice at least 3 of the 8 days we were there. We never saw anyone sitting out around a fire, cooking out, or just hanging out. We saw a few people playing basketball a couple of times, and lots of kids rode their bikes occasionally. We saw a lot of big rigs struggling to get up the hills to park in the A section. If you have a big rig, park somewhere else besides the A section if at all possible. (We paid $0 because this was part of our Thousand Trails membership.)

The staff are perfectly friendly and gladly handle packages, which was nice, but the part really is quite steep in some sections. Prepare to drive slow, like many TT campgrounds the roads could use some work, but on the other hand this is a very forest-y campground so it shouldn't be too surprising.
So yes: hilly.. but pleasant.

Big rig? DO NOT arrive after dark. You need to have daylight to safely select one of the terrace campsites on the site the "mountain" topography.
