We were in transit home after 3 weeks on the road; we just wanted a level spot to park our solar teardrop: no power or water hookups needed. Well, that's what we got for $40 bucks cash: a flat spot in a field on the far edge of the storage area: no hose bib ("you can un-do the sprinkler hose from that bib over at the end of the hose"), no table, nada. I will say the bathrooms were clean; the showers recently upgraded (judging by the wear and tear (none) on the features). A regular site would have been $50 apparently; he thought we were desperate so why not ask for $40 cash when we were already off the hi way and ready to make dinner? We used the restrooms and the showers and in the morning took advantage of the dump station. No reason to camp here again unless you're going from here to there and need a place to stretch out. Freeway is close enough for noise to be bothersome....but bearable. On the bright side, where we were placed was up against a small wetland slough filled with birds in the evening and the next morning: including sandhill cranes calling from the distance.

My family and I are on our way to glacier national park and this was just an in between stop. I was nervous to stay here because of the ratings but this is a very nice place. We arrived at checkin and a man in a golf cart took us right on our spot. He’s got a great sense of humor and I like that especially after a long drive with young kids. I needed a laugh. They have several full hookup sites but we booked late in the season and were only able to get water and electric which is no problem since we’re only here one night. The sites are pull though and have plenty of room. There’s a great play area for the kids. There’s an awesome general store, a gift shop and even an ice cream and coffee shop! All very clean and well maintained. Bathrooms and laundry are also great. Not to mention there’s a gas station right here so you can fill up before you hit the road again. Everyone that runs this place is very nice and you can tell they try hard. I appreciate that.

Arrived late in the evening. We had our emailed receipt that indicated our site. We were tired and drove in and saw the gas station and market. Made our way to our site because this definitely wasn’t the normal Rv park. We barely parked and a guy on a golf cart came up and said get off my grass. We have a small Toyota truck . I asked where do I park the sites were so very squished together I was worried someone would hit us. He said he didn’t care just get off his lawn. He grunted said he would be back and left mad. Became back and told my husband to move out truck so my husband said we would but felt he was being rude. The guy said if you feel that way leave. So we spent a total of 15 mins there and left.high priced for full hookups in a parking lot and squeezed in.

Since when does a “roadside” RV park cost $50 for partial hookups? I say partial but all we really had was water. Soon after we connected water and power the entire RV park lost power. I would think it’s due to the entire electrical system being overloaded as they pack in the RVs with no space between sites. Voltage was the lowest I have seen on my EMS at 105v which only mean everyone is then drawing more amperage to make up for the low voltage. Never tried the WiFi and the gas is about $0.60/gallon more than the gas station in the next town. It’s only saving grace is that it is 7 miles from Lewis and Clark Cavern SP.

This is not a resort. This is not a hotel. There are NO amenities. This place was nearly empty. They charge for extra vehicles. $52/night for this parking lot full of mosquitos? They even have it in their paperwork... no refunds due to mosquitos!
I do NOT recommend this place. It's a joke. I've stayed at way nicer places in popular areas for MUCH less. Rip off.
If they lower their prices to a reasonable point, I'd say it's just fine if it was $20-$25/night

This is about all there is to Cardwell, MT, but it's a cute park with fine amenities. As then name implies, there is a store, candy & ice cream shop, and gas station on site. The campground offers all pull-thrus in a well-kept ring on the outside of a pretty green lawn. Some sites have shady trees. The staff is quite young but very friendly and helpful. The store appeared to have a nice selection of goods, and the candy/ice cream shop is adorable with lots of souvenirs and old-fashioned candies by the pound. We sampled the hand-dipped ice cream, and it was very good. While there was plenty of hot water in the shower, there are no hooks or benches in sight, and the spray head in the larger of the two stalls was wonky. There was a laundry room, but we didn't use it. There is free wifi that worked really well.
There isn't much room in the campground to walk, but the nice young lady working the register said it was fine to walk on the neighboring property that had a (mostly) gravel path around two small lakes on one side and the Boulder River on the other. It appeared to be some sort of old RV park/soccer field/community hall, but was deserted when we were there. It made for a nice evening or morning stroll. This park is right on the highway, and traffic noise is heavy. Our price of $34 reflects a veteran discount.
This was just an overnight for us, but some folks use it as a jumping off point for Yellowstone and other area attractions.

The site was small but level. We had water and 50amp electric. The park wasn’t busy so we asked to switch spots from the site they had assigned to a site with a little shade and grass.
The showers were dated but clean. There were no hooks for towels or clothes.
The dump station is located at “campsite 0”. The WiFi connection was decent.
The service station was staffed with high schoolers (I think). They were friendly and helpful but not very knowledgeable.
