We passed multiple fantastic pullouts on either side of this campground because we thought utilities would be nice for a night. We passed multiple fantastic pullouts on either side of this campground because we thought utilities would be nice for a night. Pulled in late and hooked up, only to find that the electric post didn’t work. No sewer hookups at the site, so we took our morning showers and proceeded to the dump station on our way out. The proprietor met us there and tried to hook his black hose to our gray tank. I stopped him and tried to explain why this was unsanitary. He said I was wrong. I offered to link my gray hose to his black hose. He said no, because in his 30 years of camping experience it’s other people’s equipment that fails. I pointed out that it was his electrical post that failed this time around, at which point he told us to “just go away” and refused to let us dump. So for $57.72 we got a water spigot. PS — there’s a free one at the gas station down the street!
Don’t let this know-it-all boomer ruin your holiday. Find literally any other campground or use one of the stunning nearby pullouts for free. You won’t regret it.

Joe, the owner, and his team are the friendliest, most helpful people we have ever camped with. We had some parts arriving to fix a problem, and Chistine faithfully looked for our package. Joe, the owner, and his team are the friendliest, most helpful people we have ever camped with. We had some parts arriving to fix a problem, and Chistine faithfully looked for our package. (In Cantwell, it might have gone to the Post Office or to the Vitus gas station.) And when it finally arrived, Joe offered help and moral support.
Joe's granddaughter celebrated a birthday while we were here. We, and all the campers were invited; we joined the party and had a great time. Turns out Joe periodically cooks and hosts a potluck. What a find!
As far as the park itself, we were in Site 40, and it was not difficult to level. The park is all white rock, but trees and flowers have been planted, so it is going to be even more attractive. We had electric and water that worked well. No sewer but the dump station is free. It is only open during office hours, but one of the team helps you with your dump. Sites are nice-sized and not too close. Our site was out of wi-fi range, not an issue for us, but it might be for someone else. Bathrooms and showers were immaculate. Laundry had 4 washers and three dryers. (Dryers are stacked, so actually six, but the top.ones are marked do not use. Washers take tokens ($4) and dryers take quarters ($2 for 40 minutes)
Thirty miles from Denali Visitor's Center and beautiful views.

Rough rock surface (not gravel) with short, tight pull thru spaces. A pickup with a trailer over 20’ will have to unhitch. Unprotected plastic water lines strung on the ground that you must not park your tires on. Very few picnic tables, no fire pits (good, there’s no place to put them). Unprotected plastic water lines strung on the ground that you must not park your tires on. Very few picnic tables, no fire pits (good, there’s no place to put them). Locked and guarded dump station right by the office with restricted hours. Not at all convenient for departures at 11:00 checkout if multiple vehicles are in line. Forget the WiFi. Hours more restricted than normal, with checkin not before 1500, checkout by 11:00. Laundry $4.00 wash $2.00 dry, with restricted hours. I would not stay here again.

This was a convenient stop for us to spend a few days. The whole campground is more large rocks than gravel. We had a pleasant easy check with really nice owners. This was a convenient stop for us to spend a few days. The whole campground is more large rocks than gravel. We had a pleasant easy check with really nice owners. Site 40 was at the end and quiet which is great for us. Sites are level and not as tight as some are. We had electric only. Verizon decent as their internet wasn't. Small but walkable cg but you can walk down to Jack river. Denali is doable from this location and not so crowded here.

The park served our need for the night but we won't return. The check in process was easy and campground is clean. Wifi is random at best. We were not able to connect. Verizon is really good so everything worked out. There are a few permanent residents. Our reservation was Electric Only 30-Amp Pull Thru.

I don't understand why some people complain about this RV park, as it is better than 85% of the other Alaska RV Parks. Yes, it's a gravel lot, but almost all Alaska RV parks are. I don't understand why some people complain about this RV park, as it is better than 85% of the other Alaska RV Parks. Yes, it's a gravel lot, but almost all Alaska RV parks are. The spaces are adequately spaced, and no, you cannot hear your neighbor snore (unless you're creepily snooping!). Bathrooms and laundry are clean, and the new owners (since 2021) are SUPER friendly and willing to help on any reasonable request. Verizon is 4 bars. I definitely recommend this as an alternative to Riley Creek in Denali Park, which is impossible to make reservation in ...

This is a cleared gravel park with three rows of spaces close together. You are going to a trailer park. However, the owners were very friendly, the place is clean, the water is good and due to the covid pandemic there were only six of us camping there. You have water and electricity at each site and there is a dump station if/when you want to dump. It is convenient if you want to go into Denali Park (30 miles north) or if you want to go up the Denali Highway which is very close.

Located over a mile back from the highway, traffic noise was rare. You could hear the occasional train horn off in the distance. We were going to boondock but wanted power because of the cool, drizzly weather. 30 Amp, electric only with Good Sam discount was about $29 including taxes. Located over a mile back from the highway, traffic noise was rare. You could hear the occasional train horn off in the distance. We were going to boondock but wanted power because of the cool, drizzly weather. 30 Amp, electric only with Good Sam discount was about $29 including taxes.
While the park is compact, all of the pull-throughs (the vast majority of the park) are set up on an angle so things weren't anywhere near as tight as I'd anticipated based on the prior review. While it's 30 miles away, this facility gets lots of overflow traffic from the National Park while others chose to park their big rigs here and drive in. This one gets 4 stars from me. If you're looking for Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort, it's not, but the bears and other wildlife are real around here. As Alaska RV parks go, this one is above average.
In spite of what another reviewer said, the potable water comes from a PUMP HOUSE, not an outhouse! It's some of the best tasting water we've found anywhere in Alaska including large municipal systems.
I would absolutely stay here again! Basic but comfortable and priced right. Laundry, showers, and restrooms were clean. Unlike so many places along the Parks Highway, I had EXCELLENT connectivity on my Mobley.
