“Huge sites”

The park is located just off of highway 11 (The David Thompson Highway) about 6 Km west of Rocky Mountain House. The access road is gravel only the short distance from the highway to the park entrance. Signage is adequate. Check in was efficient and very friendly. The rules are fairly basic. The interior roads are gravel and in good condition.

Our site, 140, was a back in grassed lot that was easily long enough for our Coach and Towed. Services (30 amp, and water only) were to the left side. The size of our site was phenomenal even for a rural park. Most sites have a vegetation privacy barrier. Each site has a table and a fire pit. Our site was flat and even. Overall the park was well manicured and pleasant to look at.

The park included wifi worked well on occasion but mostly it was very slow. We were warned at check in that their provider was having difficulties. Even our checking in had to be restarted twice as the info was being lost during input. Our 5G hotspot had three bars so we had no internet issues. There is NO cable TV nor were we able to find any OTA channels. Satellite should not be difficult. We did not use the washrooms or showers but we checked and found them clean and modern.

There are many activities available to campers such as basket ball, volley ball, play grounds and pedal car rentals etc.

There are no restaurants or stores within easy walking distance but just a short drive away you can find food, shopping and convenience stores. We found this park to be a good overnighter. We paid 55.00 per night (plus tax and reservation fee) and we feel we received fair value. We will be back if in the area again.

“Friendly Staff - Great Facility”

Stayed here on Wednesday, Sept 8, 2021. Not very busy therefore very quiet. You could still hear a bit of noise from the highway but it wasn't bad at all. I didn't give the "Noise" 5 stars because of that. The owner is a very friendly and accommodating fellow. We used the showers - they are $1.00 for 5 minutes (but it feels like longer than 5 minutes). We didn't bring any change with us and it is quite a long walk from where our site was to where the showers were. The Office is very close to the showers so when we discovered they were pay showers I went to the office and asked if he would please spare me the long walk back to the motorhome and provide us with a couple of loonies ($1 coins) for the showers. He immediately said 'yes of course'. I promised I would pay him back which I did! Anyhow, it was a great experience. Power/Water/Sewer at the site. All was perfect. We would definitely stay here again.
In Canada we use Telus, Bell and a few other cell providers. Telus is the biggest one. We had cell coverage but the Wifi where we were was horrible. Couldn't connect to anything to stream. The owner came over and reset the system but to no avail. A website would come up but that was it...the spinning wheel of frustration kept happening. Not the end of the world at all but worth noting if you were counting on working wifi.
Again, we do recommend this location. It's quite beautiful and it's situated right along the river.
