The road leading in was really good but had some deep ruts as you hit the first central cul-de-sac. It was very uneven and we presumed it would see a lot of traffic so we took the short road to the right. Deep ruts and a sharp turn caused the 5th wheel and truck bed to make contact with each other. We managed to get a nice level spot at end of road but stressed about getting the truck and camper back out with as little damage as possible all weekend.
It was very, very dry and dusty which is understandable as the whole state hasn’t seen much rain all summer. We also had a problem with mice and caught one the second day we were there. Didn’t see any other animals at the site. No noise from other campers but quite a bit of traffic does come back to scope out spots. This would probably be a good spot for small campers but our 31 foot 5th wheel with the current conditions was not a good match.

I pulled in on a Wednesday and went to the left at the small intersection. I saw a few spots but just didn’t think they were a fit for my 16ft TT on the right side of the road. Then I found a perfect sunny spot with decent cell reception on the left side of the road. I wanted to situate my trailer to get the most sun on my roof top solar panel as I could... the spot looked relatively flat but was kinda of wonky. Not totally level but it works.
I noticed lots of chipmunks 🐿 right away and didn’t think much of it. That 1st night I could hear both chipmunks and mice crawling around the underbelly and under my sink. Ugh. Luckily, I have 1 mouse trap down there and quickly caught one. The next day I put 3 more traps around my trailer to get the mice. Right now the score is... Cheyenne 5 - 🐭 0... they are relentless. Not sure if it’s the time of year or what but I’m thinking of heading out tomorrow. Can’t afford any rodent damage to truck or trailer. Not much I can do about the chipmunks... but they’ve gotten under the lining along the bottom. Hope they aren’t building a neat. Kind of nerve racking.
Temps are in the low 30’s right now and 70’s in the day... chilly in the morning but perfect in the day, which is why I came up to 7780 ft... to escape the heat.
Lots of dust from passing vehicles but luckily the wind is pushing it all to the other side of the road. Not much traffic till the weekend but still not that much.
Not sure if I would take a big rig back too much further than about a mile, if that. I walked the road and didn’t seem to be a lot of places to turn around. There is one big rig spot to the right as you drive in... if you’re longer than about 25’, I’d suggest that spot.
Otherwise, quiet and peaceful. Just wish the rodents would leave me alone... and no my other mice deterrents didn’t work... Irish Spring, dryer sheets, moth balls.... nope, these mice are serious. So I had to get the big girl traps out. Hate to kill them but I know how destructive they can be. 😖 🐭🐭🐭🐭

We hiked two days up on top of the plateaus one day to the south of camp and one right behind the camp site. Great off trail hiking and plenty of cool things to check out. Trekking poles are very helpful with the steeper loose Areas. The paved bike path is super close and fun to ride.
Cell signal was 98 - 115 dBm / 3 bars on Verizon and with our We Boost X drive we were able to do Team Meetings on line with no problems. We enjoyed the star watching and would come back for sure.

No one there, and we enjoyed it all to ourselves for two days. The last day 2 cars of young guys asked if they could share and of course we said yes. They parked away from us and were very quiet. We had strong AT&T signal and internet access with our hot spot. Just a few minutes to Bryce Canyon NP. And the walks at the Red Canyon Visitors Center are beautiful. We loved it there.

This would be a great spot if once again, Utah had a grip on where they allow people to shoot guns. I found a great spot in this camping area. I was enjoying hours of peace and beauty and then the gun shots came. The first rounds were obviously from a handgun and the next rounds were from a shotgun. The issue with Utah is that people are shooting guns in their campsite. They aren't out hunting in a hunting area. They are shooting right where people are camping so you could get injured or worse just trying to camp. So I had to leave because I refuse to stay in a camping area where people are firing guns in their site.
The other reviewers are calling the large camping area when you first come in the main camping area. But really it's just a large spot for the kind of people who don't want to drive a few more feet to see all the OTHER spots. It is where the ruts are (right up front). The un-level spots are about right in front of you once you come in. There are more LEVEL spots immediately to your right before you reach the dry lake bed if you still want to be up front. I didn't camp over there because it's a large area and I know others will want to come camp right next to me.
BUT if you really want to camp (and you don't mind the risk of being shot), then get past the first bit of bad road right up front and go on down the road. The road just turns into your typical unpaved but manageable road after that. There are many side roads from the main road with camping spots and there are more camping spots along the main road as well. The one I'm in now is off the main road but goes up and away from the road so it has some good privacy and a mountain behind it so nothing is coming from that way. There are a lot of spots out here, you just have to keep driving but if you are towing anything, it is best to scout first.
Also Verizon was about 3 bars so that was great.

It sounds crazy, but there was a herd grazing there, and one cow was following us around and bellowing at us for a good hour. Just when we thought we had lost her, she followed us to the site we moved to to get away from her. She eventually moved along, but we heard the herd (lol) all freaking night. The couple at the other site said they’d been there many times and never seen the cows, so maybe it was a fluke. Other than that, I would rate this spot 5 stars.

It is secluded but an easy in and out. The road is good and the spaces are spread out. It does get windy in the afternoon but it always calmed down at dusk. We would stay again for sure. Only 30 from Bryce.
