“Clean Parking Lot, Felt Safe, Lots Of Other Campers”

Overall Rating
Stayed 1 night. Parking lot was clean and had a large dumpster for garbage. Felt safe and seemed others campers were respectful of property and fellow campers. About 25 campers the night we stayed.

Based on previous reviews we called ahead to see if we could camp overnight since every Walmart we pulled into had no camping signs. The manager actually answered the phone and told me they do allow overnight camping and not come on over! Their parking lot was kind of full with campers and overnight guests. “Cabela’s Normally Awesome- But This Place A Bit Of A Scene ”

We’ve needed to stay here two nights. Usually we have great experiences w Cabela’s but some things we’ve not seen before having a negative impact. Both nights “fleets” of larger rental RVs (3-4 units in a group) have arrived later, grouped in an area, cranked up generators that run all night, and sat outside smoking and visiting loudly... more
We’ve needed to stay here two nights. Usually we have great experiences w Cabela’s but some things we’ve not seen before having a negative impact. Both nights “fleets” of larger rental RVs (3-4 units in a group) have arrived later, grouped in an area, cranked up generators that run all night, and sat outside smoking and visiting loudly til we’ll after 1a. I’m guessing as newer RV-ers, they still have stuff to learn.
There are also a handful of trailers without vehicles and a few vans that have obviously not moved for quite a long time, covered in tarps and moldy…..concerned that these things might cause management to reconsider the privilege of staying here.
This could all be just normal “high summer season” here but we were surprised. We’ll over 100 rigs counted Sunday morning spread over three lots - many camped “across” parking spots vs within lined parking spots due to slope.
Here’s hoping we can be good stewards of the benefit Cabela’s extends and work to be a community of folks they continue to support vs. have it ruined by a few folks.

Stayed here for a few nights this summer due to proximity to airport. Lots of other campers around, no foot traffic and little car traffic. Can use the Target restroom (next door) from 7a-10p. Great one night stop for free!

It’s just fine for a parking lot. Very safe and quiet. Far enough away from town to get out of the urban chaos, but close enough to make appointments and shop.

Fine place to sleep for a night. There was a designated section of the parking lot for campers. There was a mix of large rvs and cars. The lot was relatively close to a target which was nice. The lot itself was relatively quiet and felt safe. Nothing fancy but a free place to park for the night.

Very nice stopover on a Friday night. There were 45 RV's parked on the Target side and the front parking lot with more arriving after hours. We dropped some cash at Cabela's and picked up trash. Please consider doing the same.

Signs may be posted, but I bet there are 40 rv’s in the two parking lots. Wasn’t confronted by any official telling me to move.
