This is a nice clean campground not that far from Kansas City. There is a dock and a beach in the campground. Outside the campground, but still in the state park, there is a larger beach, a playground, and a marina. There are a 30amp, 50amp or no power sites depending on your camping style. There are also double family sites for people camping in a group. Some of the best sites are the no power sites on Wild Turkey Ridge. The camp host was friendly and gave me a map when I came into the campground. The bathrooms were clean, and the showers were hot. There is a small laundromat in the same building as the showers if you need to get some clothing washed.
I explored on my road bike, kayaked on the lake and hiked the trails. Road biking around the campground was fun with plenty of hills going down to the lake and back up. Biking all the roads in the park was around 15 miles and with the hills is pretty good exercise. There are three trails that are all around 1 mile each.
Cell phone service for Verizon was spotty. Sometimes my phone would work for calls sometimes it wouldn't. I would recommend a booster or a directional antenna to get a reliable signal or data connection. With my small trailer I had enough room on the pad. For a wider camper the asphalt pads would be fairly narrow. There is a 3-4 inch drop off on the sides of the asphalt pads.

Really enjoyed my stay at the Buck Ridge campground. My ATT internet signal is really good, most sites are really good sized, with firepits and picnic tables. There is a shower house with a few washer and driers in center of 4 campgrounds. Campgrounds are busy on weekends, but during the week pretty much have the place to yourself. Not many sites with Eletric, water and sewer, but they do have them. Definitely will stay here again.
