Small little campground with maybe 5-6 spots and I was the only one. It’s close the the interstate but the noise isn’t horrible but definitely noticeable but can’t complain much since this was a free campsite. I felt nice and safe and the game warden even came to say hello.

This was a great spot off of the I15. The campground is quite small but it sits right next to the Big Hole River. There is one pit toilet that was quite clean and stocked with paper. No water available. The noise from the highway is quite noticeable but terrible.

Trees grow a bit low for the 13', we got in the spot ok, levelled with one block. All back in. I arbitrarily called our site #3. As it's free it's also unnumbered. 4th site to our North was a sloped parking, tent site. "1" is furthest south, next to the river, 2 in the corner behind it. There's also a 5th picnic table and fire ring by the river next to the day parking, which had tent campers on the Thursday we were there. The parking area may be available for RV camping, but float trip trailers come through for put in and takeout at the ramp, using some turning radius. We attempted using the 5th site as a pullout, but were too long and wanted to stay hitched.
Easy off I-15 from the north. Going South to get back on required a 3 ton limit, one lane bridge. Ymmv. Concur with the dip, ok going in but got us going out.
We ran gennies for the CPAP, highway noise already significant.

We loved this spot! There are only a couple spots, but our 40 foot rig fit nicely. We were right next to the river and had a moose visitor come by. Perfect for fishing, floating, or wading. There’s another boat launch about 6 miles up the river in Melrose where you can launch your kayak or tubes and float back to the campground. No cell phone service. Busy with fishermen and families on the weekends, but everyone is very friendly. Some road noise, but not too bad.

We were just at the Glen campground (about 15 miles down the road or so) where we stayed for seven days, and we enjoyed it quite a bit, but this place is even better. Lots of trees so the sites are shaded (although I'll admit that we got the best shaded spot in the campground – woot, woot!), fire rings, picnic tables, and the river Right. Here. I'm sitting on my bed and looking out my window right at this huge, gorgeous river. This is a great spot for fishing, so my husband is going to be happily occupied for the next seven days, and I have awesome internet access through AT&T (although absolutely none through Verizon) so I'm good to go. :)
One note: There is a fairly busy road that goes right past the campground, so there is road noise from that. However, there is no stop sign or steep incline nearby, so there's no reason for anyone to put on their brakes or honk their horns, so the traffic, although steady, isn't terribly noisy.
The access in here is MUCH better than the access into Glen (which had a terrible rutted road) although the campsites themselves are a little tighter.
I only wish we could stay here forever. This is what Montana camping is all about. :)
