A Great Place To Spend The Night If You’re Looking For A Quiet Back Country spot. Easy To Locate From The Highway. Would Have Been Nice To Have A Place To Dump Trash But Otherwise It Was A Very Pleasant Stay

Sites are spread out so you don’t feel on top of each other in the meadow. Very quiet aside from some infrequent road noise. Vault toilets on site (but don’t appear to be serviced often) and river access from some sites as well. No trash service - pack it in, pack it out.

When I was there in September 2022 the place was almost empty. I will go back there when I'm again in the area.
To get there you have to drive about 6 miles from US 491 (going from Cortez, CO to Monticello, UT) on very well maintained dirt roads.

We use this campground regularly during the spring and fall. It's clean and quiet. No cell service though. we drive out turn right then left and park by big metal building to get our internet business done.

Spent only 1 night. Wish it was more. Amazing spread out sites. Clean, but can't vouch for toilets as didn't use. The Delores River was crystal clear and gorgeous with deep enough spots for a nice dip if you aren't from Arizona & can handle cold water, LOL! Sites have Ramadas over the tables but few trees. I think my site #6 is best as it is right on River & has nice tree shade. see pic. I had 4g 1 bar Verizon, outside my AS. Inside AS with cell booster took it to 4g 4 bar. cell service must have improved since last reviewer in 2019. No trash pick up here so please take yours out. Seems most folks do. But, why oh why must some leave their metal wire marshmallow sticks behind? Jerks! The road in becomes gravel & is dusty but very navigable and no washboard as well as a short drive. All sites are large and, mine at least was level. Enjoy!

Nice site. It does cost 8.00 a night, 4.00 if you have access memberships for the National Parks. Has covered picnic tables, fire rings or grills, pit toilets, water. Open with service and water through Sept.
I would stay again if I had cell service.
