Beautiful spot nestled in the trees away from the heat of the valley. Quiet. No amenities. No cell service.

Quiet spot off the main highway, but be careful in a large rig getting in/out. The entrance has a few large dips that had me worried and had the rig shaking pretty hard upon exit. Beware the blind curve while exiting as well. Cell service was non-existent except with a signal booster, and then it only came in as 1x (phone calls and SMS texting only). Otherwise very quiet and peaceful spot. Not a lot of space for large rigs. I found a spot for my 36-footer but there are only a few. Tents or smaller rigs will have better luck. Nice hiking trails, and a public picnic area with restrooms 1/2 a mile hike uphill. Speaking of uphill, it’s a steep climb once you turn onto 156. I spent about 12 miles going about 30mph pedal to the floor. I went to escape the Vegas heat—AC was out and couldn’t get fixed for a couple of days, pets couldn’t handle it. Probably would only go back for a similar reason.

Beautiful place with restrooms, picnic area, bbq. Quiet place.
There s no water and no trash, then people let their dishies in the camp..
Good access even with a compact car.
Close to Las Vegas.

Beautiful place to camp near Mount Charleston and beat the Vegas heat. It takes about 30 minutes to get to downtown Vegas from here but with the huge elevation change it is about 25 or so degrees cooler all the time. The camp sites here are large enough to accommodate bigger rigs, we had our 40 foot fifth wheel in comfortably but fair warning, the drive up the mountain is rough while towing. As soon as you get off of highway 95 the road is basically a nonstop climb for 10+ until you reach camp.
