It was really tight getting into our space. The space was short and narrow and the trees needed to be trimmed. The hookups were at the end of the spaces, so we needed extra hoses and electrical cords to hook up. Only a central waste dump that we had to pay extra for. The hookups were at the end of the spaces, so we needed extra hoses and electrical cords to hook up. Only a central waste dump that we had to pay extra for. They do have an outside communal kitchen, which was nice, but it seemed to mostly be for tent and van campers. Showers had lots of hot water, but they were rough and a bit grungy. Staff was friendly. Would we stay here again? Not likely, unless we had to. Oh - the town of Blue River has a cute little lake and park. It’s worth taking a walk around the lake and strolling through town. It’s a good way to stretch the legs.

This campground is great for a one nighter - but I wouldn't consider camping here for longer. The staff were friendly, the site was decent and the price was right. It's just off the highway separated by a frontage road. It's definitely a 'no frills' campground. Sites are drive through and they also had small cabins. We hooked up to 30amp power and water without issue. Washrooms were nice and clean - they are obviously on top of the cleaning.
Wifi was decent.

This is a small, old and tired private campground with sites of poor to fair quality. All utilities worked and I have to report that the water pressure was intense and I suggest the use of a pressure reducing device even if your rig has one built in. WiFi worked well (unusual in a campground.). Cell service was fine for light Internet usage and voice calls. There is some highway and train noise which detracts from the experience. The owners are nice.
We picked this campground because we thought it would make an easy travel day. In the future we would likely pick a campground in Clearwater or Valemount and which is further from the highway.

We failed at planning here... We had no reservation and we paid for it. We stopped one night between Edmonton and Penticton going through Jasper in late July. We stopped one night between Edmonton and Penticton going through Jasper in late July. The only sites left were no service tent sites, no trailers allowed, no services at all. This was in the smallest secluded corner of the park next to the highway... No trailers made sense because you wouldn't be able to turn around or back in at all. Luckily we had were staying in a camper van at that time. But we were towing a 20 foot Hobie with our bike racks that we had to leave by the office, it didn't fill me with confidence with regards to security. I chained my bike to a tree and went to check it first thing in the morning, before going out for a longer ride.
The town is in a pretty beautiful location. Fresh air was great!
There were lots of kids playing in the various pull through sites that were serviced with more room. This also seems like a reasonable place to stay for people going out to enjoy the canoeing, hiking and rafting in the area.
I chop up our bad experience to poor planning on our part... this was also before we joined Campendium!
