Arrived in early October, 2024 and there was only one other rig. We are towing a small pop-up camper with a Honda Odyssey and had zero trouble accessing site. It’s a parking lot for the Bloody Shins Trail Head. I talked to a local the following morning and he said folks camp here all the time. Lots of locals out walking their dogs on the trails in the morning. Sunrise is also gorgeous over the mountain range!
You’ll drive through a residential which then takes you over a cattle guard right into the parking lot. Looks to be room for 8-10 rigs. If you’re a weary traveler on Interstate 80 and want to save some $$ over a hotel, this is a sure winner!

I arrived just before sunset. Easy to get to. Nice level areas. I even had a small herd of cattle meander through with their baby calves. I woke up in the morning to horses in a pasture in front of me. Highly recommend this as a stopping point for the night!

Nice and quiet, beautiful scenery for both sunset and sunrise. Really peaceful and felt safe as a solo female traveler! I was the only one there all night and one car showed up in the morning to walk their dog on the trails. Had breakfast at the picnic table at watched the sunrise. 10/10 would recommend

Beautiful scenery and a perfect place to park and sleep for a night. Felt very safe as a solo female and would for sure stay again. I had the place to myself besides one car this morning talking a dog for a walk in the trails. Beautiful sunset and sunrise and a picnic table for breakfast 10/10

When you roll the dice and trust the reviews. Place turned out to be what we needed. Long day of driving after getting the truck out of the shop. Trying to make up a little lost time.
It was a great spot to stop and leave the rig hooked up and see a beautiful sunrise starting. Quiet and 5 times better than a truck stop or Walmart.

Easy access, pretty, fairly clean, butts right up to public land. Likely busy in the warmer months though, so even if you’re the only overnight parker, be aware people will be there wanting to park in the morning to bike, hike, etc. so try to be more out of the way.

Stopped here a few weeks ago on my way through NV. Nice quiet overnight spot with pretty views. It is an off-road vehicle area so there were a few people with ATV’s bright and early but they were respectful of space!

It gets pretty busy at the sites by evening. It has a frisbee golf course and the site were along a creek. I pulled up onto a shoulder off of the road and it was fine. Quiet and great views. It’s pretty great and developed for a free site.

“TRAILHEAD......Not for camping ”
noted 5/13/2024
It is a VERY popular trailhead PARKING lot for those using the trails.
NOT for just anyone to pull up and camp in or spend the night.
People with common sense would know that.
“Day Use Only”
noted 9/12/2023
A very nice ranger came by and let everyone know the spot was day use only.
