I enjoyed the rugged area. Isolated, but there is a ranch down the road a piece. I had a herd of sheep daily though my camp and Cattle nearby. Road has some traffic. On the weekends it may be even more, I was here during the week.
Road is decent for a gravel and dirt road, this area may have mud issues during rainy season.

We stayed here for a week. Take Bloody Basin Rd to the West from I17. The road is gravel but well maintained. No issues with our large fifth wheel. There are maybe 8 pull outs spread over 3 miles available for camping before you get to the intersection at Crown King Rd and Antelope Creek Rd. You can camp on those roads as well. We saw a few sites. When we arrived all sites in the first 2.5 miles were being used but we found the last one on Bloody Basin open and it is a larger area with room for 2 or 3 RV's easily. Hunting season just started so several campers were there to hunt. There were several jeeps and ATV's travelling around but not bothersome at all. Hunting must have been poor because we never heard any shooting.
AT&T cell service was good with 15Mbps download and 4Mbps upload. T-Mobile was only 1 bar. It did get windy a couple of the days we stayed but was sunny and nice on the other days. A little cool in late February because it's about 3800' elevation. It also rained heavy one day and turned into a slick muddy mess. I don't think you would get stuck but we were glad it dried out before we left. Water and mud all over the ground because the pull outs don't have much for grass or shrubs. There is a Pilot in Cordes Junction about 4 miles up the road but they closed their dump station. I filled up with propane and they did let me use their potable water and garbage.

We had a nice area, where there were no other campers. I honestly felt like we had the whole valley to ourselves, save the occasional traveler down the road.
I had good cell service (AT&T) and was able to get a TV signal from Phoenix.
I would stay here again!

I would come back here again. The location can be windy and I had to bring the slideouts inside a couple of times due to high winds.

It was relatively quiet considering the distance from the highway. We heard a few gunshots in the distance, but nothing to worry about. We did see a lot of bullet shells around and a bit of trash, but not a terrible eyesore. Also some light traffic on the dirt road during the afternoon and evening but none once night fell.
Good 360 degree views. Cacti blooming everywhere. We went on a little hike near our parking/camp spot, up a couple hills where we got stellar 360 views of the valley. We’d definitely come back.

I saw very little wildlife - maybe it was too cold for them too.
If there were no gravel trucks it would be very quiet.
I'd come again but later in the spring or early summer.

Stayed at 34.2952,-112.1674, about 50 yards off FR 259. Fair amount of traffic during the day but settled down at night. Setup at the base of a hill to cut down on the wind. A little chilly in late November, woke up to temps in the upper 30s. I would have stayed longer except for the cold.

We went to the spot on the right (NE) side of Bloody Basin road, but it was pretty trashed, plus there was some soft sand. So we decided to go back a bit and camped on the side road going SW. Fairly level, big, clean, and there was a fire ring of rocks. There were other sites along this side road, but not all were level, and at least one we checked out had more trash and shotgun shells.
Our site had great views and was quiet, but you could hear a little I-17 traffic; however, it was not much and seemed to come and go with the wind. At night, we were surprised how much car traffic came down Bloody Basin Rd. The side road we were on led to a cattle water tank; it was rutted in spots, but not bad. In the morning, a rancher lady checked the tank, then stopped by to say hello and tell us snakes and Gila monsters were out.
We'd stay in this spot again, or maybe go to further back from Bloody Basin Rd.

An old horse trailer that has apparently been here since 1997 serves as a watering hole for equestrians and their rides. Beautiful, quiet place—save for the occasions OHV or biker gang party—where I can say we enjoyed the nature but at times did feel uneasy. No particular reason, but the feeling was there. A town up the road boasts the small town grocery store experience where a local man hangs out all day long talking to the cashier, a man in his 60s who calls everyone “brother” and complains that since he owns the store, he can’t leave early.
Great place for kids to play if they’re okay with tripping on rocks and many miniature cacti. But be warned, near this location (34.2943496,-112.1450559) there is a very large hole in the ground, too deep to see the bottom and large enough for even Andre the Giant to fall into. I wonder if he’s down there...

Stayed on the east side at a site about 2 miles down from the info kiosk. Quite a bit of 4x4/ohv traffic during daylight on a Sunday, to be expected.
Road was in good shape, just go slow as it’s washboards.
We’re in a 37’ moho with tow car.
