Each site has a picnic table and a raised, charcoal barbeque. There is a walking path along the edge of the lake that was a pleasant stroll. Fireflies in the evening (in early July, anyway).

This was our try-out night in our new RV. We booked online. Later I signed up for emails with Tennessee State Parks and received an offer for 30% off winter camping.
The park was very clean. We arrived just after the front office was closed so went ahead to our site. For beginner campers I would have liked some information at the front office about what we should do but luckily we made the right choice and the camp host came around shortly after with park info.
This site was a bit more unlevel than some others and we need to refine our leveling skills, but it was not bad. I wish we’d been able to arrive earlier and spend time on the trails. We will come back to this campground for sure.

Also, we chose that site because it was close to the bathhouse, but when we arrived we learned that particular bathhouse was being renovated. The nearest bathhouse was about a quarter mile away.

It seems as if great strides have been made to make this park compliant to ADA guidelines and it shows in the spacious pull through paved sites and smooth walkways available for hikers with disabilities.. The park has a variety of activities available including fishing, rowing, kayaking, plenty of park playground equipment and a large sandy beach area near the main information center. Lots of wildlife roaming near campsites including white geese and deer. The camp hosts are readily available and quite helpful. Firewood available to purchase $5 for 10 pieces. Recycle bins and trash dumpsters available within the campsite areas and near the dump station as you leave. Nice camp showers, clean and accessible. Near enough to grocery stores, gas stations and old downtown Gallatin. Just outside the park on the right is a restored historical farm site. Plenty to do here. If tent camping the sites are clear and flat yet still contain plenty of trees.
Would like to see better signage with arrows within the park and larger turn around areas need to be made at entrance and exits. Front area full of signs to not park a RV. Huh? We did it anyway as there was no other choice when checking in.
