Birch Lake is just a bit north of Tulsa, so it is a pretty busy and popular campground with the locals. We stayed 2 nights during fall beak in October, so the campground was pretty full, but there is a decent amount of room between spots. There are several bathhouses scattered through the campground, although we didn't go in to any of them. The sites have shared water, so if you must stay hooked up to water you will need MANY feet of hoses and a splitter (we prefer to just fill our water tank and use the water pump). I don't think there are any hiking trails nearby, but of course there is typical "lake stuff" to do. Even in October there were lots of boats out and about, and there are many places to swim and launch a kayak.
There were lots of low lying tree limbs over the roads in the park. Every time we went on a walk, we saw someone run into a low riding limb with their trailer or 5th wheel, so I'd definitely like to see them up the maintenance a bit (a tree branch to an RV roof can be costly).

Loved it except for the “shared water”. Some of the sites were 200 feet from the water hookup. Also the showers were lukewarm to cold. Like being able to make reservations.

Only electric hookup but you can share water. Shady sites and some are right by the water. The lake is small but perfect for kayaking and fishing. Get all your supplies before you get here! Great for a weekend get away!
