The campground is open grass with areas of trees. Little to no privacy between sites. Most sites do have a nice view of the lake. There is a dock with rental boats. You can get free wifi by the office. Coin-op showers. The staff is very friendly. The cell service (Verizon is fantastic).

The place has grass.. and they use heavy duty sprinklers 24/7 (even during ‘quiet’ hours). incessant clicking noise. i asked if the sprinklers were intended to be running all night, and perhaps if the one near me could be turned off at night… i got a blank look and ‘oh you’ll sleep better tonight since you didn’t sleep well last night.... more

the tent only sites are smashed all together in a field with a couple trees. If you choose the lake front sites.. you will be roasted by the sun. the interior sites, i’m not sure where you would park? there is zero privacy between sites and only a couple trees throughout the tent area. there’s a bathroom building with one female and one male shower and a couple toilets and a little ways down another single male and female bathroom (toilet, sink). they also rent out the fields without labeled sites next to the tent area… apparently they reserved 30 camper vans for this weekend. Sounds great. I would not stay again.

The down side is a lack of sewer hookups and some very confusing "pull through" configurations. God help you if you've gotta swing around the camp area with neighbors nearby. We're not great at backing, and you're kinda forced to if someone is placed close to you. Still, nice place and would recommend it over trying to camp at the festival.

Overall this campground is just so-so in terms of amenities (no laundry facilities), and they have signs that state if you have a restroom in your TT/RV to use that instead. Our site was sloped downward towards the lake and made setting up extremely difficult, taking way longer than normal. The staff was extremely nice and helpful so that was a plus! Now to the bad...The third to last day a Winnebago RV parked two sites down from us. They are pulling 50A but pedestals only offer 20/30A. Pedestals are tied every group of 3 to a single ground and we happened to be on theirs. As a result, our power Wattage kept dropping below safe levels for our TT and our surge protector kept shutting off power for us. This was unfortunate as it was the hottest weekend they've had this year (85+ in shade). Not to mention we work remotely from our TT so with power out, our mobile router is inaccessible. Thankfully, this happened over the long holiday weekend.
The staff was helpful however this caused some undue anxiety for us since we were heading to the North Cascades NP for the day and left our dog in our TT. All was well with the dog though and he was fine but I would caution those wanting to stay here. The electric is not reliable and is outdated after talking with staff.

When we pulled into the park, a young guy was on duty in the office, he was very friendly and efficient and got us out the door in just a few minutes. While the surrounding countryside was dry and brown as typical in this area in the middle of summer, this campground was watered and green. Some of the sites (tent sites) were shaded under a row of trees. We were in a row of RV’s and were open to the sun, which was no problem as we can provide our own shade. The spaces are not private, but one long “parking lawn.” They are fairly level, but have a set of leveling blocks handy, you may need a couple. All of the sites are no more than about a 2-3 minute walk to the lake’s fishing dock. We brought our own kayaks and my husband was able to get out in the lake. They also have little boats for rent. He said it was really nice. There is no beach space per say, and the waters edge has algae growth, so the owners have left it in its natural state as much as possible. I let my pup frolic in the water but wouldn’t want my kids in it. The women’s restroom had 1 shower and 2 stalls. In pretty good shape. I didn’t use the shower, Not sure about the men’s side. Also, We saw couple of people who had been fishing and each had caught a trout, both about 18”-20” long. The campground, although almost full, was very quiet and peaceful in the evenings. Very enjoyable. The BC fires and two fires near Chelan had left the air fairly smoky, but not bad, but noticed there were no mosquitoes flying around, which was a bonus! The campground is over a low hill from Winthrop and about 7 minutes by car to town, and about 10 minutes to Twisp. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend staying there.
