A short dirt road, mildly bumpy, leads into the rest area. Drove in a sedan and was no problem. Bathroom is nothing to phone home about, but it’s there. I did not find any running water near the bathroom area, not sure if it might’ve been elsewhere - I left before thoroughly daytime exploring. Overall, I am grateful to have found and been able to stay here overnight!

This awesome boondocking location is in the woods of the De Soto National Forest. This FREE spot is a trailhead parking lot that leads to some popular biking trails in the area. We camped here for 7 nights and lucked out with lots of sun for our solar setup! The lot is spacious and perfect even for big rigs! A fire pit and restroom are also onsite. If you're heading to Gulfport or Biloxi, this is a great spot to consider!
The parking can get busy during the day with bikers coming and going, but it clears out at night, giving us the place to ourselves. We had a blast exploring the bike trails, especially our young boys. T-Mobile and Verizon kept us connected with solid internet and cell service and the 7-night stay limit is plenty of time to check out the area.

This is such a great location in the tall woods. This is the third time I've overnighted here. The first time, a year ago, I woke up in the morning into such heavy, dense fog... it was so awesomely creepy looking outside. Wish I had snapped a pic at the time. Aside from the great scenery, it is a small campground area, but has an outhouse-type restroom. About a half dozen other cars here when I arrived, most will probably not overnight (just here for the bike trails, day use). Very peaceful, perfect weather today.
Verizon fair.
AT&T fair.

I followed the GPS and came to an open field. There were lots of other cars, but we parked a little ways from the outhouse. The outhouse is useable, but dirty as expected for free. I followed the GPS and came to an open field. There were lots of other cars, but we parked a little ways from the outhouse. The outhouse is useable, but dirty as expected for free. It is a bit sandy here and we got sand all throughout our van! Our bad. There is one fire ring and picnic table, but sadly we didn't see this until the morning because of the other bicyclists. That's okay though, it was a free place to stay after all. It was a very peaceful night and despite the other people, by morning our van was the only vehicle left standing. The access into the grass lot was paved until the last mile or so, then it was mostly smooth gravel. T mobile was not good, but AT&T was fantastic!

Great spot to camp for the night. Gravel road is manageable for any car, just a quick drive off the main road. Only complaint is that there was some traffic in the evening — seems to be a popular spot for something. Otherwise it was great, would camp again.

Big rig friendly, (we were in a 33 footer). If you are looking for a private quiet stay, this might not be for you. There were a lot of cars coming and going especially on Sunday, but hey it was free! Convenient to Biloxi.

We had great cell service on both AT&T and Verizon. I may have mis-read but I think the stay limit at this location is 7 nights. If we are back in the area, we will. definitely stay again.

This area is well located at the crossroad of several trails with mixed difficulties. The site is quiet and has some trees. There is also a table with a barbecue/fire pit. Access is from a gravel road.
