It was first come first serve (got there around 8am Monday with multiple sites to choose from). Ranger came around for payment $15/night.

I’m pretty sure it’s still first come first served. Last time we stayed it was $15 and you put it in an envelope at the entrance to the campground. We LOVED staying here! Download one of those astronomy apps for stargazing!

This campground is first come first serve only but that may change so it’s always best to refer to the NPS website for Joshua Tree to be certain. There is a pay station up front with envelopes and directions. Rangers come around a few times a day to make sure everything is in order.
