Nice forest service campground. Did not experience the pit toilets or the host. Nice little trail with view of Quake Lake and tons of wildflowers. Our site, C12 was well-spaced from other sites, as were most of the others.

I stayed here in May 2021 while visiting Yellowstone NP. I originally chose it because not much else was available. I am so glad I did though. There are no hookups available so I chose site A10 as it was the most remote site and looked like it would have the most sunlight (out of available sites) so I could use my solar. I stayed here in May 2021 while visiting Yellowstone NP. I originally chose it because not much else was available. I am so glad I did though. There are no hookups available so I chose site A10 as it was the most remote site and looked like it would have the most sunlight (out of available sites) so I could use my solar. Camp host was very friendly and even filled my water tank for me since I lost my spigot adapter. Pretty quiet campground with some hiking trails down to Earthquake Lake. Saw moose multiple times during my stay. I actually liked it so much that I decided to book a site there for my upcoming stay in May 2022.

“Stay ruined by fellow camper's noisy generator ”

Overall Rating
There are no restrictions on generator use during hours from 6am to 10 pm. A fellow camper ran a very loud, commercial style generator all day, every day. People complained, but evidently there was nothing to be done. Other than the bad experience, the sites were good with no hookups.

This was a last minute reservation as a launch point to Yellowstone that was almost better than the park itself. Extremely quiet, lovely camp hosts and with the exception of a few sites on my loop everyone had a bear box. There is a grizzly that frequents the area, so take bear precautions seriously, and the host did say cougars had also been spotted near by. No cell phone service and the one off site I had was exposed and not terribly level, but since it was the only one open, beggars cannot be choosers! Loved the drive into this campground and the valley is beautiful. Pit toilets were super clean. Would stay here again.

We loved the peace and quiet. Paddled Earthquake Lake daily. If you need cell service and internet, you should skip this. But if you love camping away from crowds, this place rocks. We’ve camped here several times and will again.

We pulled in looking for a spot to stay after a day at Yellowstone. We didn't plan ahead so we didn't have a spot reserved. In fact, a campground 30 minutes away sent us to Beaver Creek to see if they had any spots left so late in the day. We pulled in looking for a spot to stay after a day at Yellowstone. We didn't plan ahead so we didn't have a spot reserved. In fact, a campground 30 minutes away sent us to Beaver Creek to see if they had any spots left so late in the day.
Boy were we glad to arrive at this beautiful and secluded site off of Earthquake Lake! We had not heard of Earthquake Lake and were surprised to read about how it was formed, not long ago, in 1959. Our site was surrounded by a field of wildflowers and close to a lovely trail.
Some things to be aware of: Vault toilet. No showers. NO cell signal for Verizon or AT&T (likely not for other providers either). We only stayed for one night so it was fine.

Previous two reviews give an accurate description of this USFS campground. We stayed just one night on our way to Yellowstone so didn't get a chance to really explore the campground. Camp host was very friendly and greeted us as we pulled in and let us know about the mama moose and calf which had been seen in the campground. Although we kept watching for them, we never got a glimpse of them. We chose a site in C loop up on the hill which was open and sunny with some views out to distant mountains. Each site has a fire ring and picnic table. Vault toilets were the cleanest, freshest ones I've ever encountered! Whether or not you like this campground will largely depend on the size of your rig and how much you like being "out there" away from civilization. As others have said, there is NO cell service here. I checked "no" in the "Would you camp here again?" box because if we were in the area again, we'd look for something closer to West Yellowstone where we might pick up a cell signal. That said, this was a quiet, scenic spot for one night and with our Senior Federal Pass, the price was certainly right!

Beaver Creek is the type of campground meant for someone that really, really wants to be off the beaten path. It is also barely big rig friendly. Beaver Creek is the type of campground meant for someone that really, really wants to be off the beaten path. It is also barely big rig friendly.
The entry to the campground is a winding, paved, almost single lane road. Be careful. The camp hosts were wonderful people and tried to help us find the best spot. Since we are 40' long and have solar, that was a challenge even though the campground was mostly empty. We ended up on C loop with a back-in site that we barely fit on with our RV and car. There were numerous trees overhead. That made it a challenge to recharge our batteries during the day. B loop would have been better, but the ideal site was occupied by a tenter!
When they say no cell phone service, they mean it. Neither ATT nor Verizon would work, even with a booster. The nearest cell signal was at the Earthquake Lake Visitors Center.
We enjoyed our stay here, but it was too hard for us to get in and out. I think next time I would stay at the west end of the lake at a free BLM site where there are wide open skies and a cell signal. But that's just us. Others may enjoy being truly off the grid.
If you are coming here in September to visit the Earthquake Lake Visitor's Center, be aware that the visitor's center closes about two weeks into September. We missed it by 1 day. Still, we parked at the gate and did the trails anyway and enjoyed the visit.

Stayed here 9/14/18-9/16/18. We had a lovely time and were there to be able to paddle at Quake Lake. There is a steep trail from loop A down to the inlet to the lake but not to haul boats. We had a lovely time and were there to be able to paddle at Quake Lake. There is a steep trail from loop A down to the inlet to the lake but not to haul boats. Boat launch is only 1/2 mile west which is where we put in. If you like to fly fish - this area is blue ribbon both on the upper Quake Lake and on up the Madison River. Take the time to stop at the pullouts along the highway and go to the Visitor Center and on up to the boulders above and read about the earthquake. Will give you a whole new outlook on enjoying your camping here. Paddling upper Quake Lake is amazing if you understand the history but be aware, winds can come up on the lake quickly especially late morning and afternoons.
Spots are small so if you are towing plan to unhook but believe the site lengths! A9 was longer. So be aware when making reservations for longer vehicle lengths. Spots A6,A7,A8 all back up to melt water ponds so I would not stay here in the warmth of summer as the bugs would be horrid. Was lovely late season and we drove in to find a moose and her calf at the pond behind my spot but walking the dogs later, had to detour back to our sites as she was trying to cross the road. Camp hosts had warned us she was around.
Our sites were very large and all have picnic tables. This is bear country too though so you cannot leave stuff laying out. Bear boxes and bear proof trash containers are nearby though if you need them. Camp hosts were very nice and firewood was $6 (don't be bringing in your own peeps). Paved roadways and gravel spots. A8 was level even for my skinny trailer - YAY!
Loops B and C are more up on the top of the hills so you get a great view but beware you also have less shade and more wind and more issues with those spots for size. Many are cut into the hillside and some are skinny enough that if you walk out your door you may walk off a bank to the picnic table. Just be aware.
If I were to stay here again, for me, the only spots that would work (with dog pens and space) really would be A8 or A9.
NO cell service of any kind! Just the way we like it.
