We stayed at an electric only site , but we saw a water station on the way in. They have trails and a beach in this park and we also passed a stable with horses. Definitely will stay again

I was worried about staying in a city park. This place is amazing. The sites are HUGE! Lots of space between each site. The workers are so nice! Will plan on staying every time in Denver. This is a hidden little gem. Great mountain biking trails and a lake with a beach.

Only negative- Bandemere racing sounds, and the wind is shaking our camper. We have JT strong arms installed. This hasn’t been an issue and it’s funny! Lol. Coming from a camping trip in Oklahoma and Kansas, experienced more wind here! Haha.
Positives-It’s a beautiful park with lots of activities, very secure location and so close to all the fun things Denver Metro has to offer.
Electric only site but has access to water and dump stations. Best to bring a water container and a waste wagon for convenience. Save the hookup to dump and stay longer.
Happy Camping everyone!

Good vistas and quiet location close to Denver. Here to visit family in Lakewood but the park has many outside adventures. RV sites are 50 amp and water and dump facilities are within close range.

We choose this campsite because of the lower price point and we were going to see a show at Red Rocks. It’s a really great park with tons of trails and lots to do. It’s a $10 Lyft ride to Red Rocks. We stayed for one night because it was the only place we could find with a shower for under $40. The park is right next to some busy roads but it’s actually very pretty and well maintained. It was relatively quiet considering how busy it looked. Our neighbor was playing ACDC a little loudly this morning but it didn’t last more than 15 minutes and I noticed rangers doing rounds often. The campground is just a big open area, so not a ton of privacy. We stayed in site 16 which is directly next to the bathroom. Bathrooms are very clean. I didn’t even mind the coin operated shower as much as I thought I would because you have a whole room to yourself and the water was hot right away, pressure was great. There are many miles of trails, I wished we could have stayed longer to explore some. We checked availability for the weekend and it’s completely booked so this spot is obviously popular. Our Tmobile service was great. Would gladly stay here again.

A couple of things to note right off before you make a reservation here: 1) The sites are electric only. I think most, if not all, are 50 amp. 2) There are water spouts nearby, but you'll need a long hose if you want to fill from them. There is a water fill station on the opposite side of the campground from the entrance. 3) There are ... more

The place is like an oasis in the middle of the city. The campground is nestled down between knolls, so you don't know you are in the city, unless you look really hard to the south to see a shopping center. It is barely visible as you can see the rooftops at night when their lights are on.
The bike trails are fun to ride. It can be busy in the afternoon and weekends at the nearby lake, which has a nice sandy beach.

With that said, this was a great city park to camp in. The spaces were nice and not too close together, the campground is clean (we peaked into the restrooms - coin operated showers - and they looked very nice) and the park itself is great with wonderful trails for hiking, biking or running and a beach that is well used during the weekends and holidays.
What I liked most about this park is that they had a separate place to fill your water tanks so that you did not have to worry about blocking anyone as you filled your water for the week. They do have water throughout next to certain campsites, but for some reason they do not have the right connections to fill your tanks.
The city park is easy to get to, is close to Red Rocks Park and about 25 minutes from downtown Denver. Although close to a highway, we could not hear the traffic at night.

Friends had recommended we stay here to visit Denver, and we're glad we did. Sites have electric only but there is an RV water fill station so be sure to stop and fill up before pulling into your site. Dump station was fine but the vault toilets were not the best. Some of the sites are very unlevel, and the one we reserved a couple months ahead was unusable for us. The host and ranger were very helpful about trying to find another site for us but they were all booked, so they let us stay in the group area for 4 nights until we got another site.
Most sites are well-spaced and have nice views. There is a bit of traffic noise but it didn't feel like we were that close to a major city. There are paved and dirt trails running through the park for biking and hiking, which we enjoyed, and the location is convenient to Red Rocks Amphitheater and shopping. We also drove 5 miles to Federal Center, the light rail station in Lakewood for a train trip to downtown Denver.
We would definitely stay here again
