If you are not a Massachusetts resident you will get charged $58/night. Staff rude and lazy. Find somewhere else to go.

We were pre-registered and pre-paid BUT check-in staff were disorganized and the person shouting at the line of guests was surly. There was no orderliness to how people were selected from the line — some check in tables would have been great - one for groups, another for prepaid and a third for registered. Site was clean and people respected quiet hours. It was nice to have a grate over campfire. Some sites are tight for campers and trailers.
Negatives - dumpster was overflowing and poor signage to dump station.

Giant state park with a nice network of hiking paths and paved bike trails. We stayed at the lower end of Fearing Pond at site H9 in June 2016. We chose the Fearing Pond loop after reading other reviews that mentioned the main Charge Pond camping area had a reputation for being a little rowdier and noisy, even after quiet hours. For the most part, the Fearing loop was quiet, but the campsites are very close to each other with no vegetation or cover between sites. This also means that it is easy to hear conversations of campers at nearby sites.
Our site was an easy walk to Fearing Pond, where there was a nice, small beach. We were told over the phone that no non-marine-grade flotation devices were allowed in the water, but many families brought inflatable floats and appeared to use them without trouble. There are no kayaks to rent on-site, but there is a rental place a few miles away, with the guideline of renting for no less than a full day, and transporting it to and from the camp on your own.
There were multiple potable water stations and dump stations located on a loop behind the check-in station, for easy fill-up/dumping on the way in or out of the park. Additionally, many potable water stations were located throughout the loops in the park.
