Seems the sewer was uphill from the camper, how does sewage run uphill when emptying? No cell service. Stayed here only cause was close to Gods Acre, the healing water site. Would stay again if I come back for ore water unless we find another place to camp.

I’ll put my gripe first and get it out of the way. Site 16 was awful to get into. I’ll put my gripe first and get it out of the way. Site 16 was awful to get into. Two trees are only about 10 feet apart and once you clear those you have to jackknife and nearly scrape your tow vehicle on a tree just to get close enough to the utility pedestals and to have some space on the door/awning side. The site slopes by the utilities and I had to get onto 4 leveling blocks and was still slightly off kilter. Ok. Gripe over. The rangers and crew were friendly and amazing! The park (during the week, late May) was pretty sparse with only 7-8 of the 25 sites occupied. Come Friday it fills up (and group near me noisy).. the park is beautiful, but small. Has a really nice fishing pier and beautiful hike around the lake. The two towns on either side (Blackville and Barnwell) are just enough for supplies. Overall a great and affordable place to visit!

Stayed 6/6/2018 to 6/8/2018. Very remote central location in South Carolina. Nearest town does not have much. Make sure you bring all supplies needed. the campground had the dump station shutdown, and they wanted you to use any open spot that had a sewer hookup. Problem is the open spots all had very high hookups that are hard to connect to unless you are a tall RV (which the sites cant handle anyway). Tempted to bring a sawsall and lop off the connection to the ground, as this has happened a number of times but I will not do that obviously). --- The good is the nature (natural history) is pretty nice with a gorgeous fishing pond or two, and lots of care taken on the grounds to keep nature a priority. Don't forget to visit the nearby Springwater flowing out of a public access well. About five minute drive away.

Small, clean, pretty park with a pond and a couple nice trails. Great for a quick stop, but not a long stay.
Pros:
Pretty, wooded scenery
Large campsites
Trails with cool wooden walkways
Tons of space to run, walk and walk you dog
Quiet
Friendly staff
Cons:
There is NOTHING nearby - the towns surrounding the park are very run down and not places you want to spend any time. You run out of things to explore and places to go really quickly here.

Very nice park with a few nice walking trails. Some of them walk near a lake. Small waterfall in the park. There are 18 RV sites and some primitive camping. Our site #18 was fairly unlevel but we did not have to block the tires. Hard packed gravel. The power post, sewer and water connections were oddly placed in the middle of the site versus near the rear. It was a challenge to back in as there were some tree issues with low hanging branches. If we returned we would pick another site. There must have been hunting early in the mornings and some evenings as we heard lots of gunfire several times which frightens our dog. Male restrooms seem to be dated but were clean. Did not check the ladies facilities.
