3 night stay while we explored the Badlands. Clean campground, clean wash rooms/showers, clean laundry room. Nice store with whatever basics you might need. Staff is terrific. Hot breakfast (all you can eat pancakes) from 7:00 to 9:00. FHU.

We called and booked a stay since they had 2 websites and we weren’t sure which is which. If your call doesn’t go through, try calling earlier in the day. For some reason our call didn’t go through the first few times and it just had a dial tone even though we called before 8pm (closing time). We would definitely stay here again.
Just beware, that there are a ton of ruthless mosquitoes (but they were everywhere near and in the badlands 😭).

Four star campground and a better option than the similarly priced Cedar Pass campground which is inside the Badlands National Park. Outstanding value when using one of the available discounts. All sites pull thru of varying sizes and not all have FHU. Sites are very close, some have trees, all should get starlink and satellite signals. Some sites pretty mushy/muddy after a rain. Tip: DO NOT take SD Highway 44 to/from the Black Hills to this location if pulling a trailer! Go back up and take the interstate.

We stayed at the Badlands Interior Campground and Motel for three nights while visiting Badlands National Park. We were supposed to stay in the national park campground, but they had overbooked and we were out of luck, as were most other campers with reservations that day. Fortunately, the Badlands Interior campground is just two miles down the road from the national park campground. They offer full hookups for the same price as a lessor site at the park campground.
We found the Badlands Interior Campground to be enjoyable and convenient. We were in our class C while slowly making our way across the country. The campground is reasonably large. We had no problems getting a spot here. Sites are gravel for the RV, very level, and reasonably well maintained. All RV sites are pull through. Hookups are in good condition. You may have to run your water hose under your RV. Each site has a grassy area with a table and fire pit. The grassy areas were a little narrow, causing your neighbor to be a little close. Staff was very friendly and helpful. There are tent sites available.
There was a pool that we observed being used daily. There is a meadow with hiking trails at the campground. There are showers, laundry and a campground store. Breakfast is also available.
The campground is conveniently located just two miles from the national park. It has great views of the national park. There is almost no noise other than your neighbors.
We had 4 bar LTE with Verizon. Our hotspot performed very well. The wifi offered at the campground is the best we have encountered. My wife was able to play her xbox games in the evening.
We found this to be a great place to stay. We will stay again when traveling this way.

Campground was clean, had laundry services, store, restaurant for breakfast, pool and a walking trail in a field behind campground which was great to walk my dog. Very friendly employees no matter who you interact with. Bathrooms were clean as well.
This seems to be a one night stop for most campers - we were here a week and during the day the campground was less than 1/2 full but the evenings were pretty packed.
The only downside is sites are pretty close together, and only a few campers have a good view of the badlands. Our view was mostly campers.
We would stay here again and would recommend it.

Very close to the park. In mid-May, they got their typical full month May rain within a couple of days. This meant some wet spots and puddles around. We were in site 41 which is on the row of full hook up sites. This row was mostly full during our stay while the rest of the campground was mostly empty. It appeared they had just added sewer to the next row and were in process of filling with gravel and cleaning up. Very friendly staff, small camp store. Didn’t use laundry or bathhouse. Beautiful sunsets with Badlands close by.

Overall: Would absolutely stay here again. Very helpful staff. Great campground wifi and connectivity with Verizon and AT&T (with Booster-gets us 1 extra bar). We had a large grass site. Most pull-through sites were gravel.
THE GOOD
Sites: We had an amazing end grass patio area with lots of space site 35 and close to showers.
Grounds: Clean with decent showers..
Gas/Food: Gas is right next to the campground (diesel and regular gas).
Connectivity: Great campground wifi was surprisingly really great for being so close to Badlands NP.
WORTH NOTING (Not good or bad)
Get groceries on the way. Closest main town is Rapid CIty.
It was rainy much of our stay and many sites, including ours, were completely flooded.
b/c of the rain even the gravel was soft and mushy.

Good spot for a visit to the Badlands. Gorgeous sunset with the view of the Badlands in the distance. The private bath/shower rooms are excellent, the only negative is I had a cold shower while my husband in a different shower room had lukewarm. Staff was very friendly. Overall good stay.
